Fear and loathing April, 2020 discussion, obs, and the occasional derailment

Pattern may look like horse shit for whatever personal reason in the models looking into the mid/ext range but there is a clear tendency to moderate the 850 thermal layout.  In fact the current system is pretty much the coolest event through at least a seven.  So probably cool and wet or mild, as opposed to cold and wet or faux mild in sunny nooks

...I don’t believe those Canadian and euro runs out there towards the end are going to be correct with that because they look typically over amplifying in that range

Had flakes at 430 when I woke up. Today continues the suckage. Uppers 40s low 50s. We break the mank though tomorrow after a cold night, should be a decent Wed before yet another high rain high wind event.  We hopefully can look forward to some warm sunny days this weekend but have to watch carefully for a couple of flies in that ointment.  Then there is next week which we leave for the May thread lol

ORH pulled a -13F yesterday.  2 solid weeks of BN with one 0F sprinkled in there.
I really hope this weekend pans out.
Glad to see a little sun this morning.

ORH set a record low max yesterday....high of 39F. Old record was 41F. That leaves only 1 day now in April with record low max of 40F+....4/29/02 with a high of 40F.

Today looks nice for most. Late April sun burning this off quickly and dry air advecting into the region.

Mid 50’s, broadly, and maybe a few places make it to 60 in western SNE.

Meh here. Clouds winning out with a definitely chilly breeze for very late April

Had some pokes of sun, but it's a losing battle at the moment. Though satellite shows some promise for this afternoon.

You know it's been dogshit when 49F and mostly cloudy at lunchtime at the end of April feels like a "win"....but it actually does.

We'll see what happens tomorrow....but it's looking increasingly like ORH is going to set their record low monthly max for April.

Their high so far this month is 63F. Previous record is 65F set in 1966 and 1924. Doubt they can pull much above 60F tomorrow.

I should add that BOS is going to do this as well....BOS current April 2020 max is even lower than ORH at 62F.....their previous record was 66F set in 1873, 1888, 1946, and 1989.

So they are probably going to smash it by 4F.
