BuffaloWeather
Found my answer, love reddit The "recent drop" in U.S. pneumonia deaths is actually an always-present lag in reporting https://preview.redd.it/112zudxyqrr41.gif?format=mp4&s=9f04aa55a4658ddbb14350af64f0591fc4d7979c
rochesterdave
I still have been unable to get tested. Despite that I’m a frontline healthcare worker and nearly half of my coworkers are out on quarantine. So if someone says that tests are available- send them to me! Syrmax, I love your info and you seem like a smart guy but the contrarian attitude is a drag. You can say that there are not enough tests AND scrutinize the test’s reliability. These two things aren’t mutually exclusive. I agree that the Trump complaints seem reflexive at times; but this guys like a cancer, If he states A, pretty good chance B is the better alternative. I mean its the equivalent to early November there now. We're seeing bigger outbreaks in warm areas like Ecuador and Brazil. They had an outbreak early on and they did a really great job of containing it. I just don't see how "sun kills it" really works here. They also probably have much different travel dynamics than western Europe and the USA.
OSUmetstud
I don't dismiss a seasonal component to the virus, but I think we have to be careful about overstating it.

I guess the same way in which the flu season exists all year, but really only emanates itself in winter. Maybe that's due to more people inside in winter, more close contact, or the virus having a tough time surviving outside in comparison to indoors. However it may be Australia has 95 deaths in the last 3 months, while New York with a population of 19.5 million has almost 25,000.
BuffaloWeather
In the last 10 years I've never had the flu in the summer. I think I caught the common cold 1-2 times though.

Your posts come across quite confrontational. This causes people to be on the defense. (Ahem, the first time you came after me because you thought you knew everything about my teaching job.) Because somebody's not a flaming liberal, they're equivalent to Hannity? Some of you libs on here need to relax a bit...it's allllll doom and gloom. For example, Australia is doing great. Does that mean things won't get worse there? No. However, there is a difference between planning wisely...and going into a panic. Australia's winters are MUCH warmer than in the northern half of North America. But, because they're going into "winter" it means cases ARE going to rise.............................????? Is the DNC paying you guys to post these things? George Bush said many years ago that we weren't prepared for a pandemic. Democratic and Republican presidents later, we're still not prepared. Failure on all sides. Stop trying to blame everything on one party. How about stop lashing out and belittling people just because they don't see something politically the way you do.
