I imagine quite a few people are playing video games while sitting in quarantine.  This is game stops big moment to turn an otherwise shitty situation into some profit! Sounds like they at least have something in place to limit exposure

For their employees, but what if the employee is the one with the virus? Now they just passed it on to the customer by returning the bag they had their hand in.

Well it’s better than the nothing I see occurring at all the other stores that are open like wegmans, gas stations, most takeout places, Home Depot, etc etc.  Those places are basically functioning exactly as they always did.

Anyway, I’m not here to defend game stop. I was just trying to make a positive that they found a way to stay open for the customer and pay their employees. Good grief.

OSWEGO - The first case of COVID-19 in the city of Oswego was confirmed Saturday afternoon as the number of cases in Oswego County climbed to nine.

Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow announced the first positive case of the novel coronavirus within the city's borders in a press release Saturday. Barlow said the first case within the city "should make people realize that this virus knows no boundaries," and encouraged residents abide by social distancing recommendations.

People should take social distancing measures even more seriously now that we know the virus is in fact in our community," Barlow said. "I hope the first positive case catches the attention of our residents, we socially distance more than we already are and we realize how important it is to heed all the warnings and follow all rules that have been put in place to date."

Fulton Mayor Deana Michaels announced via a Facebook post on Friday that the first case of COVID-19 in the city of Fulton had been confirmed. Michaels commended Fulton residents for following the guidelines set forth by public health officials and practicing social distancing.

"Continue to follow social distancing requirements and do not participate in social gatherings of any sort," Michaels said. "Those not adhering to social distancing and not protecting themselves and others will be held accountable."

The Fulton mayor said next week the city's police and fire departments would work to implement "stricter social distancing measures."

Barlow said Saturday government should always be transparent, especially during public health and other emergencies, and vowed to continue updating the public on the number of cases in the community.

"I believe that knowledge is power, transparency is important and that is why I'm compelled to confirm we have a case in our city," he said.

Oswego County officials said Saturday that investigations into positive cases of coronavirus "indicate that there is community spread" in Oswego County. Officials said that revelation makes it more important than ever to obey social distancing rules and cancel or avoid all social gatherings.

An executive order issued by Barlow on Friday aimed at enforcing social distancing expanded the power of the Oswego Police Department (OPD) and the city's Code Enforcement Office to charge individuals hosting social gatherings with disorderly conduct. The order also directs authorities to collect the names of attendees and report them to the state Department of Health (DOH) to potentially assist in tracking COVID-19 cases.

"We will not tolerate inconsiderate and reckless behavior while the majority of our community is taking the necessary steps to stop the spread of COVID-19," Barlow said. "I encourage residents who observe large gatherings, at any hour, taking place in neighborhoods or establishments to reach out to the Oswego Police Department and we will immediately respond."

Barlow also directed code enforcement and OPD to monitor businesses who may not be following workforce reduction thresholds or that remain open despite being deemed non-essential by the state.

"The longer we do not properly social distance, the longer we shall have to do it," Barlow said Friday.

Friday's executive order went into effect immediately.

As of Saturday, Barlow said officials had broken up several gatherings in city parks.

Barlow said Saturday the number of positive cases is bound to increase, and encouraged residents to "remain calm, be extra cautious and stay home..

I don’t know why the nazis are freaking out about people going to the park, the beach or just walking around. I’m not gonna just stay inside. As long as you don’t congregate. Ya know?!?

Irrefutable and damning.

It’s very hard for human beings to admit mistakes, but I really pray that people wake up to the fact that Trump failed, and that his failure has been catastrophic. We don’t have to expect this little out of our leaders.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is requiring travelers from Louisiana to self-isolate for 14 days and said the Florida Highway Patrol will install checkpoints on major roads to screen travelers from that area, he announced on Friday.

DeSantis is imposing restrictions on travelers fleeing to Florida from Louisiana — particularly New Orleans, which is emerging as one of the hotspots of the coronavirus outbreak.

Snip...

The Florida Highway Patrol will install checkpoints on the major roads along the Alabama-Florida state line and screen drivers from Louisiana, with the exception of those driving commercial vehicles.

“There’ll probably be a diversion for folks with certain license plates,” DeSantis said.

This is interesting...or scary depending on how you take it. Recovering from the virus doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t contagious.

Definitley scary as it seems like the plan is to get people back to work after they have “recovered” which could be dangerous to any people working who haven’t yet had the virus...

That video shows how important ventilators are for surviving this in the 5% of those that end up contracting this virus and are in serious condition.

80% will get minor symptoms. 20% will end up being hospitalized. 10% in serious condition, with 5% needed ventilators.

He also states many will be asymptomatic. But numbers are unclear on this right now.

Numbers starting to take off here in the Syracuse area. We are probably going to surpass the 150 mark today, if we haven't already. Here is our County Tracker. My town, as of yesterday, had 5.

I was reading yesterday in our local paper that New York is considering sending people up to our hospitals if they end up running out of spaces down there. But, we may be seeing LOTS of cases popping up here this week. :(

"At the end of the day, I am from Brooklyn," Marbury told the Post from Beijing, where he coaches the Chinese Basketball Association's Royal Fighters. "This is something that is close and dear to my heart as far as being able to help New York."

Marbury added: "I have family there in Coney Island, a lot of family ... who are affected by this, so I know how important it is for people to have masks during this time."

Marbury reached out to Brooklyn borough president Eric Adams to help coordinate the sale.

But Adams told the Post that he was initially informed by city and state officials that they did not need the masks. When the Post contacted state Department of Health officials, however, they said state officials "want to talk to Stephon." The department was put in touch with Adams' office to continue talks.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the NBA Together initiative is asking NBA players who have recovered from coronavirus to consider donating plasma:

NBA Together was created in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, as the NBA suspended the 2019-20 season.

One of the efforts NBA Together is supporting is the COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Project. This project has brought together top medical specialists to determine if plasma donations could help in treating coronavirus.

Several NBA players have tested positive for COVID-19. This group includes Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz, Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets, Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics and Christian Wood of the Detroit Pistons. All players reported either feeling no symptoms or have recovered from the affliction.

Very sad to say that legendary singer-songwriter John Prine is in critical condition with COVID-19. He’s in his early 70s, and is a cancer survivor in not great health, but he was still touring and recording.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday extended the New York State's "PAUSE" directive requiring all non-essential employees to work from home for two weeks, to April 15, as the number of positive cases in the state rose to 59,513.

Cuomo made the announcement at a news conference Sunday afternoon — less than a day after the Centers for Disease Control and Protection issued a 14-day travel advisory for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the tri-state surpassed 65,000.

The "PAUSE" directive also bans non-essential gatherings, Cuomo noted.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is threatening to sue Rhode Island over its new coronavirus policy that calls for police to stop cars with New York license plates and has seen National Guard members go door-to-door to ask if anyone has arrived from the Empire State.

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo -- like Cuomo, a Democrat -- announced the drastic new policies last week to limit the spread of the coronavirus. New York is the epicenter of the outbreak in the U.S., confirming more than 52,000 cases of COVID-19 and recording more than 700 deaths.

"I understand the goal ... but there’s a point of absurdity, and I think what Rhode Island did is at that point of absurdity," said Cuomo. “We have to keep the ideas and the policies we implement positive rather than reactionary and emotional.”

It's a scary thing man. I really hope more people take it seriously. What's the harm in being over precautious? I know I'm being over precautious but what's so bad about it? Stay home, watch tv, movies, play video games/board games, spend time with my fiancé, my son, my dogs. Not too hard of a thing to do to try and keep everyone safe. I know a few people who have tested positive too, 2 of them are doing better but one of them is doing worse and she's not that old (woman in her 50s with no real underlying health conditions). Sending good vibes your way for your friend and his family man and hopefully they all make a speedy recovery.
