Grand Rapids was like the projected line where snow cut off, and they're getting a few inches. That may be a bad sign for Buffalo snow. Imagine 2 WSW in less than a month that don't pan out.
Thinksnow18
Oddly I always felt this was a long shot even though the models turned yesterday...seems too quick and probably another algorithm feedback issue.

It will all depend on if the precip is strong enough to create it's own cooling which it should be close to. If that rain showing up is snow we will have a decent storm. DeltaT13
OMG, I'm sitting here perusing the latest models and realizing this thing is going to be be a dud for most of us aside from some isolated lake effect locations, then I head to the NWS and see they doubled down on everything. WOW. Just wow. I hope I'm wrong and they are right, but I just don't see it right now. 1

BuffaloWeather
Jan 2014 and March 2014 featured Blizzard warnings. The only time before that was I believe the 1985 LES storm. They are extremely rare around here.

wolfie09
Best lodging option around here is the tailwater lodge by Hilton in Altmar if u don't mind spending the money..But that may be a little to far south for this event...

SouthBuffaloSteve
Not to jump to far ahead in time... but I’m still watching the period late Friday into early Saturday. Not that the high res is getting into range there is a chance we could see a slight veer in the winds off Erie to just a hair south of WSW. The NWS point and click hourly graphs we’re showing this as well. Maybe we can sneak that band north for a few hours.
