SnowDawg
Back to a more moderate clip here now. Not really showing up on radar much, may be some upslope flow.

So, well done GSP, really prepared the public well for this one. I'd understand if the guidance was split yesterday. But by the 12z suite at the latest and probably even earlier, the models were absolutely locked in on what was going to happen here over North GA. I truly don't get how they missed it that bad at just a 12 hour lead time. I'm surprised gsp got caught with their pants down to this degree...since as you said the models were all in good agreement for that area for a while. 9 minutes ago, burrel2 said: About the time Pickens and Oconee counties were at 2 inches on the ground they issued a WWA... these counties wound up with 3-5 inches and no upgrade to a WSW. I don't believe NWS GSP predicts the weather anymore. They just issue advisories and warnings as the criteria is met, and half the time they don't even do that! Did a bunch of folks from ffc move there or something recently? But all kidding aside, aside from thinking athens should have been in the advisory sooner, i think ffc did a pretty good job overall. They did better than gsp it would seem.

SnowDeac
These are solid rates, it’s just too warm. We’d have an inch or so in Madison Park, but instead just a slushy trace on elevated stuff. Just got back from a walk. Really pretty to watch at least.

They did great in my book. I just used the advisories for Towns and White counties to judge what mine should have been while GSP was asleep at the wheel. SnowDeac
This is the hardest I’ve seen it snow consistently with zero accumulation. Frustrating.

wncsnow
Last weeks small event was better than this for the foothills. Suns back out here and there is only the slightest dusting on trees
SnowDeac
This is legit inch an hour rates right now. If only the temperature was 3 degrees colder.
ATLMet84
Well, this overperformed according to forecasts I would say. I got about 3-3.5" here on the NW side of Cumming. Beautiful snow day today. Only 33 now.
kvegas-wx
Looks like we may have some leftovers headed into the triad. Warmed up to 40° so no sticking without crazy rates. But I'm expecting a virga storm for a while first. Looks like we have about 3-4 hours to play with here. Tracking begins now.....2:45 pm.
SnowDeac
Rates falling off. Was hoping they could stay up as the sun angle gets better. Frustrating day but still fun to watch.

calculus1
Decent light snowfall for about an hour now in Hickory. Too warm and too light of rates to stick. But, sure is pretty to watch. calculus1
Oh, and congrats to all the SC and GA peeps! Glad you're getting a decent event out of this. I'm a little jealous, and hope we get a good one before the season is over.Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk
palmettoweather
Around 2 - 2.5" in Pendleton/Central area. Glad we broke a dry spell and happy for my fellow SC/GA peeps. Props to Burrel for the early call. 3K NAM did well again, HRRR not so much. Hope NC folks get one before the season is out.
gman
Best kind of snow event. Snow all day, sticking to everything except the roads. Beautiful day in Greenville, S.C.! 1
NorthHillsWx
Congrats SC and GA people! This turned into a major event for some areas! Way to hit climo in a season when that seemed impossible. Enjoyed the excitement through yall today! Love it when it snows in my old stomping grounds at Clemson, only happened a handful of times when I was a student there but they were always memorable! N Ga definitely made lemonade out of lemons! 6 in in a 6 hour snowfall...
SnowDawg
My favorite part of all of this is that a little over a week ago I officially threw in the towel on this winter and gave up hope. Then in an 8 day stretch most of my county has now hit seasonal average. Now if it'd just stop raining...
bargainmusic
Flurries in Winston-Salem. Very pretty but not sticking to anything.
