Don't see a PDS issued frequently for cities as large as Charlotte. Stay safe

If the tornado passed through Uptown, it would be the first since 1997. I havent heard of any damage in Charlotte, have heard damage in Gastonia.

Dont think anything happened.  I was livestreaming when the line came through.  Got real windy for a few minutes but thats about it.  Looks like the worst went north out towards Concord.

It looked like the core of the cell passed along I-85 as you mentioned earlier...so, north of uptown.  It's been a frog-strangler here north of town over the past hour

Warned stormed moved just west of me earlier but nothing of note here. Watching storms intensify to the southwest through. Storms look more impressive than the warned one earlier. Given the high winds aloft it's a bit worrisome.

I know mby has had close to 4” of rain so far and if any of those winds mix down to the surface, it won’t be pretty :yikes:

Can you remember a day like this, ever?  It might be the worst severe weather day I can remember since the late 80s for Charlotte.

March 28, 1984.  A series of tornadoes from Newberry to Ahoskie left 42 dead in NC.  Multiple F3 and F4's.

TW

That’s what I was thinking. It may be the worst severe weather day for Charlotte since one of those mid 80s outbreaks. I am talking about Charlotte specifically. I could care less about outbreaks anywhere else in the state in this instance.

Saw some snapchats from co-workers in uptown when the second line came through. Wow is all I can say.
