psuhoffman
1 hour ago, Bob Chill said: @psuhoffman check out this piece of the forecast discussion from the CAIC: "The atmosphere dries out overnight as the upper-level trough shifts east. This will be short-lived as the eastward movement of the trough eventually puts Colorado under moist northwest flow. Beginning tomorrow night the Northern Mountains will see an extended period of snow with moderate, and at times strong, northwest winds. The strength of the jet stream and abundance of moisture should also provide ample snow down to portions of the Southern Mountains that are favored in northwest flow." NW flow is the absolute best and most prolific snowfall setup for Steamboat/Winter Park/Summit County in CO and Jackson in WY. The central mountains like Aspen do "ok" usually with NW flow but moisture has to cross a lot of tall ridges to get that far south. It's the same reason that Summit Co sucks ass with SW flow. Aspen gets hammered but there are too many tall ridges between Aspen and Summit Co. I learned my first year there that any winter storm warning with S or SW flow was ripe for an epic bust. I didn't learn it until I suffered through 3-5 epic busts. lol Yea I’ve learned a “little” about the climo there from my extensive visits. I definitely made the right choice with Jackson. They will get way more this week plus another wave clips then over the weekend that stays mostly north of CO. Additionally they stay north of the front so Saturday it might hit 45 in Aspen but Jackson stays below 32 and could snow all weekend. A sunny 45 degree day can destroy the snow conditions quick. Someone took the last cheap flight into Jackson right before me so I got a flight into Idaho Falls and I’ll make the little under 2 hour drive. That’s not bad. Plan to ski Saturday-Monday. Baltimorewx
Saying the SB is just for adults is pretty dumb imo....Plenty of kids have interest and want to watch football, despite violent hits, fights yada yada. And it IS in some ways marketed to kids...I mean its a tradition for the damn SB MVP to yell "Im going to Disney World"! and then create a commerical off of that...Not to mention they typically do some sort of kid event like they did in the example shown above. They also have many NFL kid community programs. That said, I do not have a problem with the halftime show. Kids are subjected to much worse, I doubt a halftime show will change their minds and content for the good or bad. I also dont have a kid so theres that. Now we can move on

Guarded skepticism is warranted until it hits a range that is believable. I'm obviously pessimistic for now. If it breaks right we'll run naked in the streets. It's divisive so butting heads at times is inevitable. The SB is the most watched tv event in the world. Massive diverse audience. Marketing's job is to attract the largest viewership possible. The halftime show appealed to a global audience and as with any huge audience some people like it and some people dont.

I think people believe that this allows kids to be influenced by the hard hits and contact nature of the sport, but honestly in my experience it deterred me from wanting to play contact football. I was an avid fan when I was real young (still am). Was told by my dad that after Redskins losses I'd go up to my room to cry, until I got to the age where I just accepted Sunday losses as a fact of life. Honestly, I've heard from many that allowing their kid to watch a sport and get attached to a team will teach them a lesson about being let down by something they can't control. Pretty sure this doesn't apply for Pats fans though. 1

But going through several posts of "game over " , game set match , over Grover gave me a hint. At least your post had substance . Keep up the good work I hope my 5:59 am posting met your needs. As currently depicted on both the GFS and the Euro there really isn't much upside to possible snow. Even if we would end up with the separation we would need the farther N track of the SW and very little dig probably argues for 1-2 inches at best. Still time to see the changes we need but I am not overly optimistic at this point.
