TugHillMatt
It would be great to have a genuine winter system this year where we're not towing the line between precipitation types.

TugHillMatt
The Euro and Canadian actually have it as a 6 to 10 inch event for Thursday through Friday for the Big Upstate Cities. Straddling the line...

Buffalo Bumble
A handful of robins showed up today around my house, and a bunch of other birds are buzzing around. Looks and sounds like late March with all the bird activity. Maybe word is spreading in the avian community that the AO is off the charts positive and predicted to stay that way through February...
TugHillMatt
BUF has a wonderfully detailed forecast discussion and then they get to the Wednesday/Thursday time frame and brush over it VERY quickly. lol...They are honest though, implying things are up in the air.

TugHillMatt
18Z NAM is farther south than 12Z for Thursday, so most of us stay all snow, but as a result of being flatter, the system is weaker.
cny rider
Any ski/snow eports yet from the Dacks travelers? We went to Snow Ridge today. They had the goods.. Plenty of nice soft powder. Great ski day.
rochesterdave
Skiing was epic at Whiteface. The POW was insane on Friday. While we skid, 14” fell. It was awesome and then got very difficult. It got pushed into 3 foot moguls. Hard to ski but fun. Saturday everything got groomed and we had a fun pp day. Lake Placid is a postcard town in the snow.

Now is the time to get up there before we get washed out again.

One thing I appreciated was not waiting in lift lines other than maybe 10 mins for the Gondola. I liked the blues under the facelift chair. Wilmington was blown off and a touch icy surprisingly. Cute town, huh?
CNY-LES FREAK
I think we may have an overachiever on our hands as theres no sign of a mix anywhere as DP are in the mid 20's everywhere and there not rising much so.... its S+ right now where I am with a temp of 29F. NWS forecasted 2-3 slushy inches for the lower elevations and I think they may be wrong!Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

CNY-LES FREAK
I feel like I'm living on the Jersey Coast again as I'm loving all these events with temps in the low 30's cause flake size in both events were efficient and so is whatever we're seeing tonight. NwS ultimately says we go to rain, and I wont dispute that, but it may happen after most precip and lift exits stage right so we'll end up with some BR, lol, with an inversion!! TugHillMatt
What a nice surprise! I immediately went for a walk as soon as I looked out the window. Working our way towards an inch already here in the No. Onon. area. Big, wet flakes covering everything. 31.5 degrees. Roads are extremely slippery. Even if it changes to rain, the roads will be ugly for the morning commute. Hoping to wake up to a big surprise!
TugHillMatt
Looking at Wunderground stations across Central and Western NY, it's pretty incredible to see the temps so consistently right at 32/33 degrees across the board.
