HIPPYVALLEY
Good to hear minimal damage up North and probably some upslope gain coming tomorrow. Pretty meh’ in NW MA, sucks to have rain but snow loss will be compaction and freeze.

ChasingFlakes
1.3-1.5 inches of snow/sleet here in gorham as of 10:55. I don't have a ruler but it's coming been down extremely heavily. Snow and sleet at 37 degrees so rates are poor. I'm only at 800ft elevation.

powderfreak
4 minutes ago, STILL N OF PIKE said: Down slopers are screwgied SE flow... wet snow falling east of the Spine and rain/mixed falling west of the crest. Good upslope forced ascent cooling on eastern slopes while western side is seeing downward motion and mixed or rain. Probably the same NW of the Whites, with upslope cooling over the terrain and then downslope warming/mixed to the northwest of the high terrain. OceanStWx
Ripped off 1.59" at PWM. Pack was only about 20% ripe though, so lots of absorption and minimal real loss except where runoff was occurring.

MarkO
Not sure what the pack was pre-event, but currently at 9.5" with 2.7" liquid content. Temps low-mid 30's overnight so melting minimized.
alex
Final tally is 0.8" of snow/sleet, followed by a spike in temperature into the mid-30s and misery mist, now back to snow but still warm in the mid 30s. Overall a slight net gain

ChasingFlakes
Snowing hard up at Jay right now. A few miles southwest in Montgomery it is barely snowing though. Tomorrow will be nice.
powderfreak
Yeah nice pulse of moisture moving into the Spine. Should be able to add a couple/few inches overnight. Snowing with much better flakes down here in town too. Maybe this storm has more redeeming value than first assumed...

Wasn't doing anything when I got here but my wife just texted that the roads are covered at home. Guess I should look out the windows once in a while. I guess its probably time for us to migrate to that. A mighty 31-page storm thread in January that ends up being a N.VT party... what all the members here fear. Don’t get me wrong - very happy to have gotten my sloppy inch and a few of upslope instead of a washout, but us it really a party when in mid January in Northern New England we get a little elevation snow after almost a week of cold and dry??? It seems more of an April standard. Or Jersey.
