Not to mention the GFS is underestimating the precip on the western side of the storm. Its an issue I've seen this model do at times in the past with the big storms. snowman19
Pretty bad info given, the GFS wasn’t a “solid hit” unless 1-2 inches total is considered a solid hit now: https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/?model=gfs®ion=neus&pkg=asnowd&runtime=2020012618&fh=198 1 1

Rjay
The pattern doesn't look great but we will have our shots this month especially early and late. We have pulled a rabbit out a hat quite often since 2000.

wishcast_hater
We have a week for this to come together. You don’t want to see us in the bullseye this early. The fact that they are all showing something is encouraging. A well placed strong storm will dynamically cool the atmosphere and make snow. Start Worrying Thursday if things look crappy.

It's all about timing with the northern and southern streams which always makes me skeptical in these thread the needle setups. Not to mention the Euro is either out to lunch or onto something.
