Yup, there was some sort of ul feature over the lakes but it was a far cry from what was initially advertised. LC bought it too.... posting a special Tuesday evening column calling for massive disruptions in utility, agricultural, and transportation interests from Columbus to Pittsburgh. What do you think of hrrr bringing the rain snow line as west as the IL River? madwx
we're in the middle of what looks to be a 6-10 hour gap in snowfall on the west side of Madison. Definitely some slight melting of snow occurring.

cyclone77
Lots of dripping and wet roads here with a temp at 35. The sky has brightened up as well, which is aiding the melting on paved surfaces, etc. Biggest question here is tomorrow night's grand finale spoke of energy. We're on the western edge of that, and the Euro has bumped a bit east with that. A few more ticks east and we'll miss out on the best of that. Still gonna ride the 4-7" for grand total for now. Hoosier
Next round gathering down south. Have really low expectations here tonight but hopefully will get a period of decent snow falling as much of Friday looks kind of boring. The def band looks pretty good on the sim reflectivity products so late Friday into Saturday would have the potential for some decent rates if thermal profiles cooperate.
mimillman
So yes I know the amounts busted big time, but not a bad job from the Euro in terms of axis of heavier snow from 7 days out. It got the orientation pretty spot on

cyclone77
It's looking like the Dekalb/SchaumburgStormer area could be in line for the max totals. Possibly west side of Chicago if trends continue to bump east.

Edit 2:20 PM - Just had a few minutes of some quarter-sized monster flakes fall. Crazy. Quick covering of the now melted and plowed street...
