The Winter as a whole has been very frustrating for people like me who love cold and prolonged snow cover, but this storm is awesome. Just as the November storm, this ones exceeding my expectations and packing quite a punch.

We are approaching 6" and it's now absolutely puking snow probably around 2" an hour rates

Hopefully this is a good sign for me up here in Toronto. They're calling for 6" here.

Oddly, just changed back to snow/sleet mix here at 8 am. Little surprising.  Thermal profiles must be riding the 0 c isotherm.

EDIT: Just big flakes coming down at 8:30. It appears the warm nose of air already has shifted to the East.

Shortly after it was absolutely puking snow, it turned to sleet and freezing rain after 6.1" of snow was down. We are now back to snow surprisingly

It looks like your favorite spotter out of Grosse Pointe has come in with his lowball report of 3".

I think they reported 10" on nov 11th. I was shocked. I will give him benefit of the doubt as this was time sensitive, a heavy thump, and hes on the east side. We will see what he reports tomorrow!

Given the reports coming in now out of Detroit proper and Roseville are 5.8" and 6.8" respectively, I'm going to call BS on that 3" report from Grosse Pointe.

Measured 9-10” snow depth in the yard. Up to 33” on the season which is back above normal.
Nice, actual legit snowpack taking shape for you guys up there.

Did your current storm total check in with any more than the 5" estimate earlier?

Yeah we’ve build up a solid pack over the past week. There has been compaction but we haven’t had bare ground since November 26th. (Sorry Beavis)

I live very close to the airport so I typically go off what they report, besides the occasional eyeball estimate. At 6am the total was 4.9” and we've added a little under an inch since, so storm total will probably be 5.5-6.0”
