Pretty robust line of severe warned storms and a couple tor warnings. I think a "bust" is looking more and more likely (at least for DFW) but there's still overnight into tomorrow
Indystorm
Remember this storm punch was not really supposed to get going until this evening into the overnight hours compliments of strengthening LLj.

SmokeEater
No one should even be mentioning the word bust with this event at all, at least not any time soon, lol. There has been one warning so far in the whole moderate risk area. A very long way to go. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

EDIT: Another tor warning on the squall line just north of the previous one, this time near Granbury, TX Basically there is a layer in the atmosphere where the winds are turning counterclockwise with height instead of clockwise with height which can screw up storm mode and meso cyclone maintenance (if it's really robust like that example).

cheese007
DFW metro might luck out big time if that portion of the squall line stays sub-severe (considering everything else along it has some sort of warning)

nwohweather
Yeah this has bust all over it. I may come back to eat my words but messy storm mode is ruining the whole thing as well as clockwise turning with height. If anything I think tomorrow has a better chance with more organization to produce, but this isn’t a very clean outbreak
DanLarsen34
In terms of a significant tornado threat, I think the WAA storms well out ahead of the main complex in Texas are the ones to watch. None are rooted near the surface yet, but they’ll be a problem once the better upper level support arrives.

Plus, the 15% area is bit further east and that area wasn’t expected to see peak activity until later tonight.
ingyball
I had been feeling like tomorrow was the better tornado threat due to less evident vbv a couple of days ago. Though I still think storm mode will be a problem. The new tornado watch highlights the main concern tonight which is the strong straight line winds. A High chance for at least 1 65kt+ wind report is no joke and should be taken seriously as well.

No tornadoes is one thing but no severe period is a whole different ballgame. Not that I'm complaining (save for the hours wasted staying away from my 2nd floor apartment) EDIT: Right as I said that tor warned storm heading into Tarrant heading straight for the radar and also me eventually
