CNY_WX
We had to take our dog to the emergency vet this morning (fortunately it’s nothing major). When we left Brewerton about 8 no snow was falling. Coming home just after 10 we ran into a wall of snow just past Cicero on 81. The last 2 miles the road was snow covered and pretty treacherous. Got home and took a measurement and 2 3/4 inches had fallen in about 2 hours. The snow has tapered off for now as the lake band sinks south. We’ll have to see where the multi band lake effect sets up later.

rochesterdave
I’ve been excited for this set up. I could see areas along south shore cashing in on 3-6”. Hope winds don’t get too high.

Hope nothing major...
TugHillMatt
As the band moved through, more snow is developing behind it as winds shift NW. This could be a good snow day for the SYR area.

Syrmax
I knew I should've snowblowed last night around midnight. Was perfect conditions, near freezing and calm winds. Sigh.

CNY_WX
That was insane, they must have been getting 6 inches per hour for a while.
TugHillMatt
BGM just updated P&C. Now have me getting 6 inches through tomorrow morning. Got almost half of that already this morning. I'm a little surprised they didn't issue a WWA. Looks like we may get more today than Thursday, when we did have a WWA.
BuffaloWeather
Hasn't stopped snowing here since around 2 am, albeit it light most of the time, heaviest stuff is just south of here. At 1156 AM EST, A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour was located just south of Derby, Attica and Le Roy to northern Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties. Winds in excess of 30 mph and blowing snow are possible with this band of lake effect snow.
