John1122
Slacked off here but another wave of very heavy stuff is working it's way NE up the Plateau again.
Holston_River_Rambler
The heavier precip. is a little north of me, hopefully it hits you John. Just some flurries now.
Jed33
Quite a bit of sleet coming down now with the snow. Temp down to 32 and a light dusting on rooftops, grass, and picnic table
John1122
Looks like an area of very heavy stuff should fill over you shortly. It's showing up with some 35dbz reflections over western Cumberland and is filling in eastwards.

Daniel Boone
Close to a half inch now and moderate snow . 31 now. What's going on with KMRX ? IN light of recent radar trends you'd think wwa would be hoisted .
BlunderStorm
Snow beginning to stick, things have fully transitioned over to moderate snowfall with a current temperature of 33. And echoing Dan, in light of recent events I'd say this warrants a WWA at least for SWVA and the plateau.
bearman
That heavy band that is running up the plateau seems to be breaking up to the south if it gets into Knoxville it will be by the skin of our teeth. Right now we have had enough snow to whiten the roof tops that is it.
PowellVolz
Stopped now but hopefully it fills back in. Any thoughts on dry air blowing this up?.
John1122
Snowing very hard again. The band looks to have about another hour to go here.

Looped the radar and that’s pretty much where the snow Knoxville has picked up originated from. .

PowellVolz
This should ride the valley if dry air doesn’t cut into it. .

I was kinda worried about that too, but as soon as I got under the 25 - 30 dbz returns, snow returned. I think we at least have this moisture to get through and this plume is the final one models have been keying on over the past couple of days.
John1122
There's an impressive moisture flow all the way from Louisiana streaming NE ward. Not sure how long it will last, but this is basically what the GFS kept seeing that was laying down 2-4 inches. Not sure if the GFS was taking into account dry air causing virga. 3

Will that stay west of the valley you think?.
Holston_River_Rambler
@PowellVolz I think a lot of the precip. west of that is virga, at least in TN and maybe even NW Mississippi. There could be a last push up the eastern valley from that precip over LA that may overperform, but likely to far east for me: HRRR as an example of what that could look like if it materializes: 2

PowellVolz
I believe the CAA is starting to maximize the moisture. Radar is ok but it’s coming down as hard as it has to this point. .
