SRRTA22
Two snow events in December! Here's a question for you guys....would you rather have snow with no accumulation on pavement or cold rain at 33 degrees? Hm. .

MJO812
The snow isnt going to stick here in the city. Surface temps are above freezing. It it great to see snow but what's the point when it doesnt stick on the pavement. 1

I'm one town outside of the Bronx and it looks like a winter wonderland everything's covered except the street and part of the sidewalk. blacktop grass all covered with about an inch of accumulation just eyeballing it. I will measure after the last band comes through
LVwhiteout
1.2 inches of snow. Temp - 32 degrees, Roads are slushy but driveways and sidewalks are worse. Schools have 2 hour delays!

Wake me up when there's an actual threat coming.

LI is getting pounded right now. It's about rates, and it was clear that this would be to the east, which I said would happen. Looking at snow maps is amateur hour.

purduewx80
12Z obs showing 0.5" for EWR and JFK, with 0.6" at LGA. Still some banding from the higher-based forcing working in, but it's battling dry air in NJ; should snow on/off through late morning for most of us. LI will do well. 1

We eventually bought a cabin in the adirondacks so we always have a wintry retreat. That’s a good compromise for guy tied to the city..
