Hmm... back to all snow again here and it’s coming down at a pretty good clip. Fresh coating on the road again.

.

Not much happening on the northern extent of the band...in fact I'm kinda right in the thick of it and it's snowing but lightly and mixing with rain.

I will say however since I left the office about 2 hours ago another 2" piled up here on Cayuga Dr across from the airport...im guessing close to 5" here...roads are a disaster and it is the soupiest snow I've witnessed in a long time.

Just picked up 3/4” in the last hour here from that little burst. To just think if this had been all snow we would be talking 12-18” across the entire metro.

And they said lake effect can't be low ratio.  Pure slop out there right now.

Rain to white rain since this morning in NE Buffalo. Disappointing. It seems like every variable must work our perfectly to get good LES in downtown to the north.

Depends how far inland you were...where I live in east Williamsville theres more snow than Williamsville near the walker center...the setup was very marginal from the onset of this event.  Lackawanna by the toll barriers has a lot less that areas just east of there by quite a bit.

Only 3-4” at Transit and French. Just flurries here now. Heavy snow with big fat flakes when I got off the 400. Southward we go!

Alden had 3.3" as of 6 am this morning. Sure they are over 6" by now. Airport 2.5" as of 7 am.

Does anybody really expect Albany to win this?  Remember the Washington Nationals started out slow too.

18 GFS still holding onto that area of low pressure rapidly deepening as it cuts up through the lakes next week Tuesday into Wednesday. 12 Euro has a very similar but weaker low during the same time. Still a week out but the one thing the models have been good at hitting so far this year is the wind storms with this track so bears some close watching. SW winds gusting 60-70mph up the lake behind the trailing cold front with a lake effect band sinking south through the city.

Only thing that scares me about that set up is the winds tearing apart the lake bands. I would hope the winds would still be SW and slacked by a good bit.

Just cleared 8” of the heaviest snow ever...took 2 hours as opposed to 45 minutes. SouthEast Clarence.

I'm really starting to think the sweet spot was right  the main Street area of Clarence. Once I get out of my neighborhood (1 mile) snow depth increases dramatically each street you get to and as you head east the depth gets greater. It would make sense as that's where the area of greatest convergence was. Last evening I noticed the band would make it to my house but then would wobble south a bit and the wind direction would change to more westerly.
