You're right wolf Syracuse is slightly colder then Roc and Buf in winter. Too small of a difference to make much of an impact though.

Correction: Overall Buffalo has a colder average temperature then both Roc and Syracuse due to lake breeze. But Syracuse has a colder winter on average then Buf and Rochester.

I'm still on vacation so lots of time to research. ^_^

where do you find snowfall reports?? I’m drawing a blank. Dementia

It seems like the NWS in buffalo almost only posts them to twitter these days (which is silly).  I actually finally just got twitter to follow only two pages.  The NWS in buffalo and the Monroe County fire wire.

Rochester airport the highest again.

That is absolutely absurd.  As I always mention, I live just a mile or so from the airport.  There was a dusting this morning.  Maybe a quarter inch.  That ASOS is broken and altering the long term climate data for the area.  I bet Rochester really only gets 70-80 inches a year when our average is supposedly 100.  Pretty wild that no one wants to address it.

Syracuse is already making its move.  8 inches is nothing, we can make that up in 2 hours, lol!

Ok,I live in gates.  I guess you're blatantly calling me a liar?   Stick to lying about the snow in Wayne County and predicting lake effect events that never verify.  That's your specialty...

1 degree on the car thermometer as we zip past the Sandy Creek exit on 81. En route to Lake Placid area to hike a couple high peaks tomorrow. Celebrating the winter solstice near the top of New York.
