Seems like these SWFE always end up NW of modeling. The Adirondacks deff need some pack; and it’s not in a rush to leave with the artic blast incoming . Sucks that we are controlled by the Burlington NWS and don’t have our own station . We are the red headed step child
Syrmax
Just measured 3.5" here. Still accumulating rate of snow despite a more iffy radar depiction. We might get to 4-5" if this keeps going a few more hours. Pretty much behaving as expected.
MJO812
Lake regions are getting skunked this year due to the lack of really cold air.
wolfie09
2 1/4" as of 12pm, precip rates starting to pick back up some.. Forecast was 2" today so anything more is a bonus..
PaulyFromPlattsburgh
solid snow band just formed right on top of me. No wind. Lovely. The best forcing 700mb at least is close to my area hence the enhancement

Lol "Backbuilding" (and its cousin, deathband) is one of those uberweenie terms that those of us who have been online in wx forums since the 1990s robustly despise. But once every decade or so it actually applies, as opposed to being a desperate figment of weenie imagination.
CNY_WX
Just took my 1PM measurement, 2.2 inches since 7AM. I measured 0.8 at 7 so that gives me 3.0 inches for the “storm”. Still snowing lightly probably won’t make it to 4 inches.

TugHillMatt
I find it amusing that the heaviest snow with this is over a hundred miles north of where models were showing it. Pennsylvania was supposed to get several inches...most got nothing...thought Central NY was then game for heaviest.....nope, STILL went farther north.

I’m not sure what you expected out of this storm? I guess some of the model snowfall forecasts were in the 6 inch range but my experience is that those amounts are not to be taken verbatim. I think most local Mets nailed this forecast. The 3 inches here met my expectations. Now let’s add on a couple more inches tomorrow.

Maybe I should check out the local mets instead of wolfie's posts. lol Hopefully we can get Lake Ontario to fire up with some nice cold air moving over it tomorrow.
