TellicoWx
Think the warm front just crossed over lol..went from 40s to 60s in about 20 mins. 3
PowellVolz
Think the warm front just crossed over lol..went from 40s to 60s in about 20 mins. Will be interesting to see how far north it makes it. To me MRX didn’t indicate any severe in the Knoxville area based on no SBCAPE and warm mid levels. They have a high of mid 50ish in Knoxville. You also gotta think anyone just south of the WF would have the best chance of maximizing shear with a boundary close by. .
nrgjeff
Oh that looks like help from downslope too. Quite obvious on visible satellite now. Chatty still in the soup. Good to know!

Saw the temp jump and thought WF had crossed.
Holston_River_Rambler
It's still low to mid 40s here. I was kinda surprised and thought I'd warm up as I drove home up the plateau. Crossville is 10 degrees warmer though.
Holston_River_Rambler
Line of storms looks pretty healthy, already some lightning up here in the plateau.

Downsloping winds today have banked the cold up against the plateau in the western valley. 1

Low 70s in the foothills of the Smokies and mid 40s in the foothills of the Plateau. Until a few years ago, I had no idea this was an actual thing until we were trying to figure out how some areas were getting ice along the Plateau while it was like 50 in the foothills of the Smokies. Math/Met
Just got back from Camp Creek. The wind is pretty strong there tonight. I estimate that it was approaching 70mph where I was. I've definitely felt much stronger there in other events, but it was still worth the trip. Fairly consistent gusts. 3

Uncle Nasty
We arrived in Gatlinburg yesterday. Staying for 3 nights. Woke up a few hours ago to a light snow shower on top of the mountain (Westgate Resort). Nothing heavy but a little car topper, light dusting on the ground that's still exposed from the big fire. Wasn't expecting anything so a very light dusting is a bonus to me. When I say a light dusting, I mean a VERY light dusting.
