Lights flickering.  This stuff is stuck to everything and we do have some oaks, bradfords and some maples with quite a few leaves on them not to mention your run of the mill asian 40 foot weed trees.  Other thing is we're down to 24 with a good 20 mph wind and there is still a lot of water under the snow on the streets and the grassy areas. Ground temp was about 36 this morning (yes I measured, wanted to see how quick it freezes with this arctic blast coming lol). Goes to show the insulating value of snow , which btw is falling again, give me 5 darn it! :weenie:

Detroit Likely Sets a New November Daily Snowfall Record...

Through 4 pm, Detroit had picked up 6.0" snow, which broke the November 11 record of 4.1", which was set in 1984. Snow had continued to fall since then.

Even as numerous locations have reported updated amounts, no updates have been provided by DTW. However, based on an estimate of precipitation and ratios, it is very likely that the figure has reached 8.0" (7.5"-8.5" estimate). That would set a new daily snowfall record for November.

The daily record for November is 7.2", which was set on November 16, 1932. The biggest two-day snowfall total in November is 9.0", which occurred on November 15-16, 1932.

Other daily snowfall records for November 11 included:

Chicago: 3.4" (old record: 1.9", 1995)
Indianapolis: 2.3" (old record: 1.2", 1995)
Milwaukee: 3.4" (old record: 2.3", 1995)
St. Louis: 1.3" (old record: 1.0", 1911)

Finally, at 10 pm CST, Chicago reported a 15° temperature. That tied the daily record low temperature set back in 1950. St. Louis had a temperature of 19°, which was just above the record of 18° set in 1911 and tied in 1950 and 1976. Milwaukee reported a temperature of 16°, which was just above the daily record of 15° set in 1986.

DTW per NWS local storm reports had DTW at 7.6" at 7pm and ASOS measured .05" liquid since then so it is at least 8.0" maybe 8.5".

It gentlly snowed all night.  My storm total was 8.8".

The official final total at DTW was 9.2", making this the largest November snowstorm on record. The old record was 9.0" on November 15/6, 1932 but amazingly outside of the 1932 and 2019 storms, the next largest November snowstorm? 6.6" November 28,1891! There were then quite a few in the 6 to 6.5" range, but it's just so early in the season most of the big storms happen December through March. Records go back 140 years for snow, that's how unprecedented a storm like this is this early in the season. U if M Ann Arbor reported a storm total of 11.0"!

YYZ recorded 5.3" beating the previous record of 1.1" set back in 1983, haha. A general 5-7" fell across the GTA. I personally recorded 6.0".

With a low of ~16.3F this morning, YYZ beat the previous record of 17.9F set back in 1937. We should beat tomorrows record  of 14.7F set back in 1986 as well.

Never got a warning. Was surprised an upgrade didn’t come in the morning or early afternoon when it became apparent that there would be higher totals in the persistent FGEN banding.

We's has decided the Mitt no longer warrants watches or warnings for synoptic snows, citing the inflexibility of the tools, and the difficulty in their deployment. 'sides, synoptic snowstorms really ain't that bad around yby's.  Your welcome..signed, GRR

Finished with 8.8" here. An amazing storm. The 9.2" at Detroit sets an all-time record for November (beating 9.0 on Nov 15/16, 1932), and to think its not yet mid-month! Walking around in the deep snow and biting cold and looking at the calendar is surreal. Some trees still straggling with leaves and they are dropping like flies, and while i normally hate when debris of any kind mars fresh snow, its a reminder its still technically Fall.

No, but the writing was on the wall very early and that it should have been a warning. However all that said, the total snow fall far exceeded expectations and even QPF. My snow melted down to 0.89" of liquid common no model had that much.

Finished with 9.8” of snow at my house in Berkley. By far the best November storm I’ve been in. Felt much more like a mid winter storm than something out of the first half of February with the combination of good ratios, blowing snow, and cold temperatures. Made sure to come home from CMU to see this storm, and it was well worth it to see Detroit’s largest November snowstorm. Since I got over 6” with this storm, it means this winter continues the streak of at least one 6”+ snowstorm each winter since 2011-2012 imby. My season total is up to 10.9” after that little snow band last week dropped just over an inch. Wish I could’ve stuck around today to get daytime pictures, but these will do. Saw numerous slide-offs from both yesterday and today on 96 on my way back to CMU.
