Unfortunately, the Euro and everyone else have been north from the start. I expect the GFS to cave soon. Everytime we actually need the NS to suppress a bit, it tends to fail us. Most ensemble members have AGH county as being the cutoff. That wouldnt surprise me.
RitualOfTheTrout
Maybe a light front end thump Wednesday into Thursday, better odds North and West. It would be nothing more than stats padding though as another inch or so of rainfall is coming in afterwards. Maybe some landslide watches go up? lol After that Thursday night might be favorable for some decent snow showers. It's going to be cold Friday so it would be nice to have at least an inch or so of snow on the ground. Off Topic, but if your bored go check out the NE thread... talk about a massive meltdown of embarrassing proportions!

All those east coast subs suck. If they don’t get a 20 inch storm they melt.
KPITSnow
I will say this, I prefer this winter to the 30 one inch dusting we usually get that are just annoying. If we can’t get decent storms, just don’t snow. Also, this has been much better than the usual slop storm where we get killed by WAA GM then a week of temperatures hovering in the teens or less and it is dry only to repeat with the warm tongue. NWS addresses in the discussion: NEAR TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/... 1130am update...increased PoP to track a narrow band of precipitation moving east through the region, evidenced by current radar imagery. Wet bulbing plus near sfc CAA has led to most of this precip to fall as snow, with a rain/snow mix more likely in northern WV. Warm grounds and short duration will limit accumulation to a trace on grassy surfaces only. This wave will exit this afternoon, and signal the beginning of the dry period. Rd9108
Gfs is right where we want it 10 days out a hit down in Virginia beach. Although I bet it gets suppressed instead.

KPITSnow
One, there should have been a special weather statement. Roads in the north hills were a mess. two, these are awful events, and of course I had plans. The conditions getting to McKnight were pretty scary. RitualOfTheTrout
We are now at 19.1 inches for the season. What would the over under of 25 inches for the season be? Just about any other year on Feb 14th you'd take the over but not this year.

I'd stay under though this year, and if we make it over, I'd say we stop at 26" or 27".
north pgh
I would say all the nickle and dimes will put us over 25. I still believe we are going to get an 8 + last week Feb or early March. Just a gut feeling. My shovel needs dusted off.
