Solak
It must be REALLY cold out there... What will they do when winter gets here? Durham Public Schools canceled all after-school extracurricular activities Tuesday due to the cold weather.
NorthHillsWx
Saw some sleet and even a few Flakes on my drive home from Garner to Raleigh on the east side of 440. Looked to be mostly to all frozen briefly. Pretty exciting for early November, didn't think I'd ever see anything frozen again here after it was 103 at my house in October... goldsborosnow
I've heard quite a few reports of sleet in the Tarboro/Rocky Mount area. Even a report of snow mixed in near Scotland Neck in Halifax County.
Stormpc
Sleet mix has made it all the way to the coast in NE NC. I have sleet/rain mix in Currituck. 36/29.

Stormpc
Been a good snow/sleet mix for the past 30 mins. Mostly snow. Right to the Northern OBX. Very impressive for this early. 1

I got some great foliage shots out of it too by the lake up there. Real nice colors! Which lake? Hyco or Mayo? Care to upload some? Mike maze uploaded a video from somebody on FB. Of Mayo Lake. Was pretty to watch the flakes fall and the foliage.

FLweather
Not gonna lie. That does look like a LES. Anyway guess the 80s are gone for awhile. The front pushing through here.

cbmclean
For those counting, it has been precisely 40 days since RDU notched 100 F back on October 3. 40 days between the last (and only 100 F) day of the year and the first sighting of frozen precip at RDU. I wonder if that is a record.

WinstonSalemArlington
Eric Webb: Fwiw, also notice at the end of the this 12z HRRR loop there are lake effect rain/snow showers emanating off of Kerr & Falls Lake in the northern piedmont near Raleigh-Durham, a testament to the intensity of this arctic air mass that'll be arriving in the Carolinas tomorrow #ncwx Something you won't see everyday: lake effect snow in central NC! A lake effect snow band coming off of Lake Kerr (located near the VA border) is producing snow across parts of the central coastal plain this evening w/ a few light snow reports in Johnston Co! #ncwx @NWSRaleigh https://t.co/5kvbcFdAga

YetAnotherRDUGuy
I did not see flakes today. But I did see some very small sleet pellets for an extremely brief time mixing in with cold rain right before it ended. That's frozen precip in Nov. No matter how insignificant, I consider that a WIN.

Iceagewhereartthou
Absolutely AWESOME out there today! 22 this morning. Even GSP made it down to 22, normally I would be a few degrees cooler but not this time. Been bouncing b/w 39 and 40 the past hour. No too often we struggle to hit 40 with full sunshine in mid November in the upstate. I'll take more of this please; love it!
