Winds increasing.. going outside just before the line gets here

Right at the very beginning (Wish I got the whole thing...was going for maybe 20 seconds? I heard sparking and glowing so I looked out the window but by the fine I got up and got to video it was stopping)

Line starting to fall apart/shred up.  But it’s gusty out there currently.  No power issues yet. No rain yet either.   AC on tonight..Heat tomorrow night lol...

That line of storms/rain is just shredding to pieces as it’s approaching.  Fascinating to see it just falling apart that fast.   If I get a tenth of an inch out of this line....that’ll be a lot.

Absolute rippage all night . Many gusts in 50-60 mph range. Power went out around 3:00 after fropa . Special one

Tolland Stem at 700 feet gusted to 59mph. I was awake since 1:15. The strongest winds were about 5-10 minutes after fropa as winds shifted west . That was around 3:00AM. Easy gusts to 60

I wonder if you can make the case for a serial derecho here. Lack of any 65+ knot reports may preclude this designation

A couple things to consider too

1) Far less trees on the trees this storm than last

2) Wind direction...southwesterly/southerly winds don't typically tend to produce big damage/power outages. (I think last storm was more SE winds then the switch to NW behind the front)

I see very few trees on the trees left. None, actually.

I think that second point was the key ingredient around here.  I think Will and Tip has mentioned that.

This was a good HWW event. Many gusts 45-51kts or so all over.

Only one outage here in Raymond. Our house faces S/SW, with little trees in the way. Back of house took the brunt. Not the best night of sleep

You also had 60-85mph in areas near the coast. That was intense. I think even BED was near 50kts in that one.

That one you had to be near mesolow. TAN was just west of that. Not a lot of stuff in NE MA this go around. Seemed like it was more pike south. ORH did well though 49kts.

It was a good event for this time of year. Tough to say since I was sleeping off and on, but solid gusts in the 50s at least anyways. Luckily we have man trees so hopefully not much happened.

Yep, we lost power here right at 3:03. Ever source estimates noontime to restore. Fun stuff.

Up  here on the Maine coast it wasn't as bad as the last one, but there are 75,000 CMP customers without power.  The outages are distributed more throughout the state rather than focusing on the coastal communities like the last one.
