Looks like the positioning of that Hudson Bay low further south squashes this and doesn’t let it gain much latitude

Southern stream SW was much weaker and the northern stream SW was trailing and didn't really phase as it acted as a kicker instead, That was a drastic shift from 06z and i would toss that run right in the toilet anyways.

Shit Jerry,  you ok

Yeah I was lucky Steve.  It was on a downslope so the distance of the fall was cut.  I would normally complain but I fear the response might be to shut down that section for the winter-finding a parking space is tough enough as is!

On the bright side-sun is out!

I’d go ahead and bet against a phase

Well you were getting a partial with the northern stream anyways, It remained strung out, But you had the leading SW remain progressive and the trailing SW was lagging behind so the whole trough remained positive instead of going negative over the ohio valley.

Our highest temperature in the past 13 days has been 41F....the only day in the 40s.  Four days have seen single digits.

If that's how it is at 700ft.... easy to imagine 1,500+ feet in NE VT/NNH/WME seeing full ice over, if they've been below freezing for so long and also seeing lows below zero a couple times.  Hell most water around here is frozen solid but that's much smaller yard ponds and wetlands.

Crazy to think about... 2 weeks in November when average highs are in the 45-48F range, we have only hit 40F or higher once during that time...and I don't even think it was on an hourly report, it was a between hour high temp lol.

Full pool at Umbagog is about 1250, but the point is well taken.  They may have had only one day (the 10th) get above 32 in the past 2 weeks.

And that was on 11/15

My temps for 13,14 were 19/6 (windy) then 24/-2 (calm.)  Umbagog was probably something like 14/2 and 19/-8 those days, and they'd had lows around 10 on 11/8, 9, 12.  However, the always late to freeze Long Pond in Belgrade has had only some skim ice along the edges.  Last 2 days have been essentially average for means (-7 highs, +7 lows) and have boosted the month average from 8.1 BN all the way to 7.3 BN.  Precip has been about half the average so far.

  Don't worry, she'll quickly adapt.  By mid Feb a sunny day in the calm 20s she'll be out there in short sleeves.

Diane, Ekster, and I spent many years at Lyndon State. She'll adapt quickly. She lived in her yoga pants back then even if it was -20s.

Different world up there - love the Ft. Kent pic.  Madawaska reporting 10" OG.  Most of the Aroostook trails pre-date the ITS system, and I'd guess they have an earlier go-date.

Oh ya...Locals-they’re already out riding a lot of the trails up there.  No grooming or signing until December 15th as others have said; but locals in N. Aroostook have logged some miles on the sled already.
