franklin NCwx
Watching the radar loop you can tell there is a lot of dry air filtering in.

FlatLander48
Latest HRRR has the strip from Avery through Ashe at 4-5 inches. Based on radar, I do not buy that at all. I will add that it has finally started flurrying.

Baconwfu
35 in Waynesville (work) right now, been heavy flurries/light snow form almost 2 hours, nothing at all sticking anywhere 39 at a weather station in Asheville about 300 yards from my home (2 miles north of downtown), wife said as of 5 minutes ago (9:35) that she hasn't seen a rain drop or a snowflake I'm thinking that below 3000/3500ft this might be a big bust

Hvward
Sometimes some of you need to step away from the keyboard. Several models showed this dry air from 7-11am and then when heavier precip moves in as the afternoon progresses that dry air disappears and the column goes frozen. Don’t call it a bust just yet. 5

FlatLander48
Everything else aside, it's really cool that every county has some form of advisory, watch or warning for today. When is the last time that happened?

SnoJoe
Temps are still rising here. Up to 32.8 now and have barely had a flurry. Can even see the sun burning through the clouds. Looks like a southern mountain storm for sure. Enjoy folks!

franklin NCwx
Slowly starting to pickup here. You can see the moisture overcoming the dry air in NGA and the NC/GA state line. Hopefully it starts hammering here soon.

Howdy neighbor, looked at a house there at your elevation but am just down The mountain from you in Balsam Forest. We look to be in a good spot for a Haywood maximum. Baconwfu
Snow just started, 37 in Asheville Been flurries/light snow all morning in Waynesville, 34, still no accumulation on anything (in town, I suspect at higher elevations it's sticking), currently more like light snow than flurries fwiw
