Met1985
Well we have the model runs tomorrow but as of right now I like the outcome for us. Its getting down to what the short range models say over the globals. We will see but I think we end up with a decent event from all this.
Blue_Ridge_Escarpment
Had to turn Boyer off just hearing the intro to the newscast. It’s like he’s tracking a different storm.
Met1985
The Euro just caved to the NAM and GFS. took a significant jog north with precipitation. All good trends.
Sw NC weather
6z Nam 12km drop totals slightly for WNC but still a 3-6 inch event
Tacoma
GSP saying a dusting to an inch around Asheville, doesn't seem right with what all the models are showing. I would have thought around 3 inches maybe 4 at least.

They are always super conservative anyway.

Yep guess your right, because it does look like it snows here the whole event with no rain or sleet.

Yeah they will be tweaking the forecast which they already have for my area but im thinking they will wait until 6 or 12 to put out some kind of advisory or watch. FlatLander48
Considering the thing starts tomorrow, theres still a lot of variance in plumes for Boone. Average is just over 2 inches. Theres 3 members in the 7 inch range, and a bunch just scattered all over the place.

natbright
Hi - can you answer a question please? I read that temperatures are running around 3 degrees colder In the Midwest than what nam/gfs is showing. Is there any truth to that and does it affect us at all? I should know better than to post right before a model run; I think my question got lost in the main event topic. But since I am in Haywood maybe better to post in here anyways? nrgjeff
I feel the call of a Catalooche daytrip from Chattanooga! @Maggie Ace will they run the shuttle bus from Maggie Valley parking even if the upper lot is not full? I ask because I don't want to drive that road up. Thank you. Separately I guess I should take I-40 around. Figure the pass from Cherokee will be a little crazy. Maybe come up tonight, but need some other things to be canceled locally first. Weekdays are short lift lines and cheaper lift tix. Oh yeah! BlueRidgeFolklore
NAM came in juicy and pasted the southern mountains. Slightly warmer but doesn’t look to be an issue here.

FlatLander48
SREF plumes adjusted as well. Average of around 3 inches in Boone, and a few members (not just one like earlier) are showing 8-10, so could continue to go up possibly.

FlatLander48
I'm gonna take my 2 inches and call it a day. I honestly dont believe the northern mountains outside of the western slopes will do much better than that
