Tyler Penland
Just getting some edits done from Wednesday. Here's a neat shot. The skyline of Charlotte from Mt Mitchell. Takes very dry/clean/cool air to make it naked eye visible during the day. Around 90 miles or so. This was taken at my max of 200mm.
Upstate Tiger
Not as good as Eyewalls. Camped at Black Mountain campground last night. Really good color near Mt Mitchell.
Tyler Penland
Here's a few. Sunrise from rough Ridge, a couple shots from Mitchell and Crabtree the other evening. The colors around banner elk today are fantastic. 194 between banner elk and Valle crucis is absolutely stunning.

Buckethead
Got out and enjoyed the foliage one more time before the wind comes in tonight. Went to Spivey Gap and Green Mountain along the Cane River. Was not disappointed!

Tyler Penland
Sunburst and lower graveyard falls were looking rather spiffy the other day. Also visited courthouse falls just up the road but that one has more rhododendron around it than anything.
eyewall
I went back over my aerials for better edits as my monitor was messing me up. Buckethead
12K name and GFS both suggest some backend flurries are possible in the favored border areas overnight Thursday into early Friday morning. And this weekend looks downright cold.

Also im liking how the Euro kind of reloads the trough in the East. The GFS does not do that so we will see what happens but this seasons in seasons weather is damn near perfect and something we really haven't seen for this time if the year much lately.
WxKnurd
Nearing peak color here near 3400’ at Balsam Gap, only hold outs seem to be a few oaks, beeches and wild cherries. Poplars have changed and are all about bare now, hickory’s are a brilliant yellow and dropping leaves more and more, maples are a blaze of yellows, oranges and reds. Keep trying to upload a picture of the view from the living room through the trees with no luck.

Met1985
The 12 GFS is throwing out a few flakes for Thursday night and then some upslope snow for the 3rd also with another cold front pushing in. Nothing major at this time but it will be nice to see it steadily cold with a few flakes in the air. The NAM is on board for tomorrow night also and looks a bit more impressive than the GFS.
