alex
Past peak here, but still great on the other side of the notch heading towards Wildcat. Took a ride up the gondola there today. Mobbed but worth it.
alex
By the way interesting that Pinkham Notch is about a week or so behind Bretton Woods even at similar elevation. Not sure why.

CapturedNature
Foliage is coming along here in this corner of Connecticut. Here are some pictures from late this afternoon when the sun came out.

Some really nice pockets of colors now, especially in the hills. I would say that we are closing in on a peak within the next few days. Some of those people two weeks ago calling for a blah season were wrong...it's really come on nicely since then.
Sugarloaf1989
I did the drive yesterday to Stafford Springs, really beautiful foliage color along 190 in Stafford and Stafford Springs. Primarily yellow and gold. Better fall color than in my travels in Vermont. I'd say it's peak in that location. Best foliage around here since 2016. Ginx snewx
The Sassafras trees next to the driveway are a pain but they do turn these amazing shades of peach. They also smell fantastic

If you're looking for some reds, try Hurds Lake (Camp Aya Po) on Camp Road. There's some nice reds there. If you come up Stafford Road to get there, there's some red/orange around Hampden Road. Thanks for the information, I'm actually looking for orange, gold and yellow, those are my favorite foliage colors. I'm going back there tomorrow, today was spent driving around NW Connecticut. I was up in the Quabbin Reservoir area today in MA, it was decent but a bit inconsistent. It was variable, areas of peak color, areas with green foliage and bare areas in higher elevations. The rain and wind a few days ago stripped off some foliage. I was also in SW Massachusetts and the foliage along Route 23 was pretty colorful. The best and most consistent foliage color in two days of driving around was Stafford and Stafford Springs. Really vibrant colors. With a possible coastal storm next week, the foliage probably won't last much longer.
powderfreak
Great day to be wandering through the woods with the wife and dog... Vermont wins foliage. I don't know if its species diversity or what but man, every single year it is absolutely ridiculous.
CoastalWx
Yeah that is a winner pic right there. The foliage up north was really great. Such a good time of year.

dendrite
Foliage was killer this weekend. Starting to get some leaf drop now. Oaks are mostly turned now and the sugars are at peak. Were losing the birches and reds though. The swamp maples are in full stick season.
powderfreak
The amount of leaf drop at the mountain is incredible... has to be 50% bare now with scattered orange color. Town at 700-900ft is probably just past peak, trees in our yard are almost completely bare.
Sugarloaf1989
Did lots of driving around today through Coventry, Andover, Hebron, Glastonbury and Marlborough. Lots of peak foliage especially along Route 31 in Coventry and along Route 66. Picture order: Holbrook Pond Meshomastic Forest Hebron

That’s also a big area with blowing and drifting snow on the winter

Good color in residential areas, or color in places where it's impossible to stop. + I'm handicapped and slow.

eyewall
It is finally starting above 4,000ft down here in NC (over a week behind). It looks like peak at the Blue Ridge Parkway elevation near Grandfather Mountain will happen early next week. I just thought it was interesting to compare to New England.
