The longer we continue without a frost/freeze the worse it becomes because the number of infected mosquitoes grows (e.g. mosquito bites (usually) a bird, bird becomes infected, allowing more mosquitoes to get infected if they bite the bird, and so on). Damage In Tolland
What an upcoming summer ! Friday onward... It`s after a brief period of high pressure Friday pushing S/E off- shore that return S flow through the weekend beneath rising heights and low-mid level SW warm advection that we see temperatures rise, potentially record-breaking, into the 1st of October. This along with dewpoints into the 60s, it will feel like Summer rather than Autumn.

CoastalWx
Just think we'll be doing this occasionally into October. Luckily we will have cool intrusions from time to time...but summer is like Jason. Try to kill it and it keeps coming back.
CoastalWx
Here is why. Massive -PNA despite -NAO ridge in Greenland. The Pacific is driving the bus as usual. This is next weekend.
CoastalWx
This is a week later. Much flatter ridge, but still a warm look. It's very Nina. Need a hemispheric shift which should come after mid October I think.

dendrite
Low of 63F here...not too bad. None of that nonsense like up in far NNE, but of course they're fully mixed and gusting to like 25-30kt out of the SW. So there isn't much room for them to climb today versus down here. Already mostly cloudy here too. I'll probably top around 80F again at the casa.

USCAPEWEATHERAF
Latest models suggest that the -NAO look tihs week into next week, begins to break down towards the first weekend of October, then the cold air builds into central and southern Canada before being unleashed into the northern third of the CONUS, north of 40N latitude. This would happen towards the last week of October, perhaps a cold Halloween period.
