dendrite
This will be another ENE rad special with that low level cold nosing in from the NE from that high. Should be a lot of low to mid 30s in the cold spots. Maybe even low 40s on lava rock's hill.
CoastalWx
Thursday morning could be dam cold just inland (OWD-TAN, etc). Flow should relax from stiff N-NE winds tomorrow.

Ginx snewx
No frost please. My garden is going gangbusters with a lot of flowers still pumping out peppers. Picked and hung the basil to dry, made pesto with the fallen leaves. Already had dried one picking. Just had a BLT with basil, tomatoes and lettuce from the garden. Damn that was good. My big fail was green beans which my dogs love. Only 3, 8 to 10 inch beans so far but a ton of flowers.

dendrite
Heck CON’s avg first freeze is 9/24. It was earlier during the 61-90 normals.

dendrite
CON has actually had freezes 3x in August...1965, 1976, and 1986...not exactly yore. That 1965 one was 29°.
Ginx snewx
Ever wonder what weather related phenomena has caused the most fatalities in your county. Ian Livingston made a preliminary USA fatality map. I zoomed in and added his legend and a background. Some areas are blank as it’s a work in progress. HoarfrostHubb
High wind deaths is the winter in ORH county? Surprising. I guess rotten oak branches dropping on noggins. I would have guessed freezing rain/icing leading to traffic accidents.
HoarfrostHubb
BOX forecast for Casa de Hubb is 39F Thurs morning. I doubt I get to 32 but Epstein’s article suggests a possibility https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2019/09/17/first-new-england-will-see-frosty-weather-then-around-this-weekend-what-going/UOHsiadw2w0N9D2LRcGObI/story.html

In falls of yore even BDL averaged a first frost in September. They've gone from 9/30 in the 1961-90 normals to 10/4 in the 1981-2010 normals, and you can probably add a few more days on to that for the 1990-2020 normals coming in a little under two years.
