wisconsinwx
Thermometer at home did not even make it to 80F today, which was supposed to be the warmest day of this stretch. Ahh, September near the Lakes, also had several rounds of boomers.

CheeselandSkies
Monday night/Tuesday morning I was driving in to work (3:00 AM start, lived in an apartment a block away from my work until the end of August but am staying with my gf at her current place across town until our new lease starts on the 14th) in a torrential downpour most of the way. Saw the lights of a utility truck in the distance as I turned onto the street. As I got closer I saw that it was half blocking our employee driveway. A big tree had come down taking out some power lines. We were on generator power and my old apartment building was blacked out. More storms this morning, sun's out now with a blue box in effect for an expected later round. So far September feels stormier than May and June in this neck of the woods! Chicago Storm
89'd at ORD today. Hit 91 at MDW and 90 here. Other local sites in the vicinity also hit 90/91...so ORD lagged just a bit.
Castaway
Nice light show to the north of me. Around buffalo grove area based on radar. Some nice horizontal streaks showing definition and height of the storm. Flaring every few seconds. Also just saw the area was under a tornado warning under an hr ago for lake and north central cook counties.
bowtie`
Seems the NWS is having some network issues, so I have no idea what KIND made it up to today. But even if it as a tick cooler than yesterday, it felt a lot more uncomfortable in the humidity department.
nokywx
95 yesterday/92 today at CVG. 95 is the hottest of the summer. Lexington airport climbed up to 100 yesterday...pretty surprising, as that is typically not a hot spot.

Guest ovweather
Unusual looking drought monitor map. Small areas of moderate drought surrounded by nothing. Usually, abnormal dryness / drought is more widespread. I do know that drought will expand down here in the lower OV with the ongoing extreme late summer heat wave under the ridge of death. No measurable rain in two weeks now.
hawkeye_wx
All week, models had been advertising a nice line of storms pushing through Iowa today, but they pretty much skipped by Cedar Rapids. I picked up a tenth or so. Dubuque took the brunt last night and again tonight.

Hoosier
Pretty windy out there today. Looking ahead, it appears there are a lot of average to warmer than average days yet to come this month. Fine by me.

It's desperately dry out there, and the record breaking upper 90's heat everyday isn't helping. Next week looks like more of the same. Shades of the horrific 1999 drought are starting to dance in my head.
osubrett2
90/93/93/93 the last 4 days for CMH, which is 26 for the year. Not too bad for mid-September.

cyclone77
Was a pretty noisy late night/early morning with lots of thunderstorms passing through the area. Picked up 0.81". The yard is lush green, and rapidly growing like it did back in May/June. A far cry from the state it was in most of July and early August.
