We’re they running the summit double?  I love that little mountain.  Had a pretty epic powder day their MLK day 2009.  Boot to knee deep on top of no base.  Summit is surprisingly steep.

Yup!  Old school lift.  I got to the top at 3:50 and the seasoned  ski patrol guy up top  said “ok, this is your last run have fun!”
I got back to the base lift at 3:59 jumped on and winked at him when I got back off again up top.

LOVE  the prancing moose emblem. Volvos > Subarus in the snow after my wife and I have owned one of each. Wouldn't mind a V90 with a 3" lift on it one day for a winter whip lol

Thats the cross country!  I've had so many people stop me who were old volvo owners and say how much they love the prancing moose.

The car had Pirelli "all seasons" that were scary as hell in the snow. Added Continental Viking Contact 7 snows and its a beast.

I'd love some nice snow tires on my 15 Forester XT but I'm from PA and we literally have under 3" of snow to date..  Huge snowhole in SEPA with philly under 2" for the season, they're normally at 22" right now.  Anyways I come up to NNE at least once a month in the winter but I still dont think it's worth it.  Never had an issue getting around up there yet, but I've definitely been on some white knuckle drives that would have been more comfortable with snows on.

Also, I went to Big Boulder, PA yesterday and after riding Jay and wildcat the other week, it was depressing.  Hard being a powder lover in PA, getting outta here soon.

Wind-blown chalky snow up here.  Base is solid and snow is fun but those 80-100mph winds did some wind-packing for sure.  Blew a lot of the snow out of the trees too.

From looking at the Mansfield Chin, the wind really scoured things and moved that snow down into the snowfields.  Nice lower elevation transport in this wind.

Had a really fun day at Magic today.  Judged the IFSA(formally ski the East) comp.  I wish I could have skied more than a couple inspection runs.  100 competitors and reviewing scores took the entire day.  Skiing was outstanding.  My son skied pretty much everything and said it was great.  Lines were pretty long and the BLT was hopping when we left.  Hopefully the mountain made some money today.

Still finding fresh untracked lines at Stowe despite the holiday week crowds.

Anyone telling you that you can't find fresh lines hasn't looked hard enough ;)

Doing Stowe for the first time at the end of the week...Any recommendations on what is skiing the best and where the best woods are?  How are the front four skiing?  Trails like that I really only like to tackle with really good conditions so I'm not in over my head.

Very impressed with Hood Meadows. We had to get there at 7:15 to avoid traffic chaos lol. Stayed in a nice condo about 30 min away. I guess people didn’t like the spring snow, because we actually only waited in one short line. Seems like lots of people left early. People said it was the least crowded Saturday since early season. Heather canyon is an expert skiers dream. Unfortunately they had about 12” of powder last weekend on glare ice on some steep bowls in heather canyon during the holiday weekend and 2 people died. Couldn’t see the ice under the powder and slid down into trees. Lots of serious injuries too. We found some nice bowl runs into the canyon with no ice and skied them over and over again. North facing slopes were packed powder due to low wet bulbs even though it was 40F. Sunny slopes were sporting spring hero snow. Very cool glacial valley. We had 5 bluebird days during the week overall and some fresh powder (8” first day, 1” 2nd day)!! Not your typical Pacific Northwest weather lol. b1cce7e3dcc7ea108fe46acaf8787aa0.plist&key=6551cff3000b8c5a8ba39d7933ee751889bbd4b37b9679c44c096902e9ea9bf95360626fedfc50277396c410c89aa220.plist&key=565435ec3223fcfa73be7ef8c113bb2f4cfedf44e36564f788ea4eb4bef778ff2bb439ff3c550b4dd71da7106ede87d7.plist&key=b114b32e3deef6e240bc9947f61de3c970a5a7d977f694daa4642cdf02ea4ece

Berkshire East was pretty great today! Manmade skied ok but the real prize was the natural. Layer of ice underneath covered the rocks pretty well with perfect corn on top.  We skied east glades, liftline, jug, and many off map stashes.  I hit a few rocks but for the most part the coverage was fine.  Probably all she wrote with rain incoming Wednesday but damn it was fun to get one day last day in the woods in Southern New England!
