Looks like that upper midwest energy would dive down and possibly even cutoff under us in future frames . A nice Coastal would be what the Dr . ordered for around here . Almost winter like pattern. Could use good soaking! Won’t be much color in trees this fall if it continues.

mattie g
Impressive how storms shifted slightly north with the southern end fizzling out and then one little cell blew up just to the SE of Burke. Maybe the Manassas cell stays together?

dailylurker
Weird radar signature over the northern cheasapeak bay the past few sweeps. Looks like a bomb went off and sent out a outflow boundary in all directions.

WeatherShak
Oh hello Slight Risk! ...Northern VA and vicinity this afternoon... A small thunderstorm cluster and diffuse MCV will move eastward from the eastern WV Panhandle across northern VA/MD this afternoon. Surface heating in advance of this minor wave will contribute to moderate buoyancy (MLCAPE near 2000 J/kg), and some loose clustering of storms is expected this afternoon. Steep low-level lapse rates and DCAPE near 1000 J/kg will favor occasional downbursts with some potential for wind damage.
