The MDR is dead and there's all kinds of dust coming off the African continent...we'd be lucky to have an average season. There are predicting that the dust settles and we will get into an active period. Late August into September is primetime

It has been an amazing dewpoint surge since 2016. This was the first July with an average dewpoint over 70 degrees for JFK. Last year was the first such occurrence in August. Late August into September is primetime BUST. I don't see it. Low pressure over north america, many things that will inhibit tropical formation. The one wildcard is something that forms in close or "home brew" ( think: BOB) 1

Tekken_Guy
On the next rain forecast: On Saturday evening (Eastern), there will be two rain systems, one over Montana and the Dakotas, and the other over Colorado and Arizona, which will be moving toward each other. There are two scenarios that could happen: Scenario 1: The two systems fuse together into a powerful storm over Nebraska and South Dakota early Monday morning. It will cross over the Midwest on Monday and reach us by Tuesday. Scenario 2: The two systems stay away from each other. The Arizona/Colorado system eventually reaches us on Wednesday.
