dendrite
Yeah no one said refreshing cold out here. I said meh warmth. We’ll see how it goes. It wouldn’t be the first time a cold shot failed.
Torch Tiger
July dews ended with a decent bang. Let's see what Dewgust brings. 8/10/2000 was C CT-RI-E MA banger and also, there's a relatively higher frequency for tornado occurances in N MA/Central through SE NH/ ME for the next few weeks. weathafella
It’s easier to get big departures as August moves along and means drop.
RUNNAWAYICEBERG
It will be a near normal month based on what i’m reading and seeing. Prob will be on the + side still cuz thats how we do the warm season now but nothing anomalous.

It's still near the peak of warm season so standard deviations are still low. There's also a reason why the means drop too...harder to push 100F and better chances to get cold fronts through here. RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Agree with special summer. June was full of coc. July was AN but dry and nothing oppressive...and Aug looks pretty normal after the first 5 days. 66/61 morning sun poking through hello matey...nice summer day incoming. #nothinglikelastsummer
Damage In Tolland
One summer wire to wire dews. The next one of hottest ever with more than half the days humid to oppressive interspersed with mild dew downs into low- mid 60’s. No cool comfy wx like some called. Couldn’t have drawn it up any better . Beauts

For me anyway, this July was infinitely more enjoyable in the comfort department compared to last summer, if technically warmer on average. Dews were generally manageable besides a few torrid episodes. Now we get into the dog days and await big surf and the best ocean swimming of the year. But my point is on 8/25 a day of 86/68 has a departure of +6 which is 3 more vs 8/1. It’s all about the timing because we’ve all seen 90s at the end of August. weathafella
In the other thread Jay mentioned flying near a microburst. Coming into ORD in April of 2017 we were on final approach twice when the landing was aborted. Thought I was going to die....

But yeah, if you're going to pull off 5 straight days of 93/70 in late August it'll do some damage.
CoastalWx
Flirting with COC in the 11-15 day. Tough to say. It may stay just west and give us sultry conditions, or perhaps a nice see-saw of weather with alternations. I definitely lean AN though.
