Fantom X
Hi All- can anyone present a link in NYC tornado trends in the last 50-100 years? I'm debating with someone who claims NYC never had tornadoes until recently (which I know is not true) but it is hard to find data out there. NycStormChaser
I'm away from my computer until later this evening but if you go to the Upton nws website there is a database. You input the date range and you should find what you are looking for. If not, I can help later tonight.

Fantom X
so according to the data, the first reported Tornado in NYC is 1985? So no tornadoes were ever reported in NYC prior to 1985? I find that hard to believe.

Not sure how accurate it is but it shows data back to 1952 http://www.tornadohistoryproject.com/tornado/New-York/map

That's what happening with the whole tornado alley moving east thing. There's always been tornadoes but more people are out there spotting and chasing so they can confirm visually. 1

There is a famous photograph of a tornado near the statue of liberty from 1976. 1

Every single tornado between 1950 and 2017 across the united states. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/wcm/data/1950-2017_all_tornadoes.csv I found it on this page https://www.spc.noaa.gov/wcm/#data
