It still looks like less than a tenth of an inch has fallen over the past 8 days at home lol. Cant wait to return my scorched brown yard. I drove down from my place up there last night. The rapid change in air mass in northeast Pennsylvania was like driving into a jar of Vaseline at speed. 1

I'm at work in DC; just got dark as hell, so I can watch it pour from the office. Hoping home gets enough to at least close Burke Road at Dead Man's Corner (such a dumb name). That spot floods when I p**s in the creek, so if it doesn't wash over today then this even is weak.
Harv_poor
Friend in Lansdowne was reporting the torrential rains out there around 7 AM. Told him we only had sprinkles. Around 8, the sky to the west turned black and the torrential rains commenced with a thunder clap or two but no winds.
87storms
pretty close to the lightning core with this as well. there's been a few real shakers.

dailylurker
Some fun stuff going on above my house at the moment. I'm right where the rain is streaming north into the main blob. It looks like an area of enhanced lift developing. The radar is starting to blossom.
poolz1
Missed the deluge at home... 1.44" overnight. But man, Frederick was a monsoon this morning.

Oh that thing will be rolling if it rains like this there, which it should. I'm at Rt 50 and a mile west of 495 and it is flat out torrential rain now
dailylurker
That wall of water rolling through DC is impressive on radar. That should cause some flooding and traffic nightmares.

Kmlwx
That was not fun to drive through. I was heading west from Colesville to Potomac/Rockville. Tons of standing water.
Mrs.J
We are heading back from our vacation. Will be coming down 70 to 340. I see a list of some road closures in Fred Co. but am wondering about the Ballenger Creek area. We are currently in New Pairs OH on the IN boarder getting ready to head out on the road. NorthArlington101
I’ve never seen floodwaters in N Arlington until today. Garbage cans are lying in low sections of hilly streets. If you know of Williamsburg between Glebe and Old Dominion, don’t go down it. Foot of water in some spots and impassable on one side due to debris at present. das
Cool pic right as I arrived at work just west of the WH. This is looking south just as the torrential rain started. You can see the obscured Washington Monument on the left.

Heaviest strip via radar and PWS is from Frederick down just west of 270 to ~CIA HQ and then into north Arlington. 3-5" in a short timeframe. That is awesome stuff. I'm over 2" so far. What a beast. Instantaneous and total in the two right columns.
