poolz1
All the ingredients for a good soaking Monday night. Maybe some convection Monday afternoon to get things primed. Pwats 2”+ with a slow moving front....actually a decent trough digging in . Maybe another early morning nightmare commute on Tuesday morning. Looking forward to ending this heat.

DCA is tough to do day-over-day comparisons on because the wind direction is so significant. To the minute, it is now behind. My station is running one degree ahead of yesterday. IAD looks about the same.
WVclimo
Checked the records for today at MRB to see if either the record high or record warm low temperatures were in play. 106 is the record for 7/21 in 1930. And 86 for the low from the same day, the hottest night ever at Martinsburg.

EastCoast NPZ
The great irony is that I will be in NC/SC this week and will miss the cool down. Ugh.

JakkelWx
93/80 shortly after 10 AM.. going on a trip north to PA today to visit family near State College so it should only be in the upper 80s to low 90s due to storm potential so hope to see some action up there. Eskimo Joe
If we can manage a westerly wind at DCA all day they should hit 100. 925 temps are +25 and the convective temp is 96 so there seems to be a bit more of a lid of things.

Decent low pressure area for this time of year. Mount Holly already issued a FFW for my area effective July 22 at 10:00 AM. The entire progression suggests big time rainfall potential. Might be able to restore ground soil reserves to get us through the remainder of the month into early August, with a green up.

Sparky
My ground is still on the damp side despite the heat. Maybe the humidity keeps it longer? Anyhow the upcoming potential rain will make sure it stays moist.
