All the ingredients for a good soaking Monday night. Maybe some convection Monday afternoon to get things primed. Pwats 2”+ with a slow moving front....actually a decent trough digging in . Maybe another early morning nightmare commute on Tuesday morning. Looking forward to ending this heat.

88 already at DCA per the 5-minute obs, little ahead of yesterday’s pace.

DCA is tough to do day-over-day comparisons on because the wind direction is so significant.  To the minute, it is now behind.

My station is running one degree ahead of yesterday.  IAD looks about the same.

Watering the flowers and took just 2 minutes to work up a sweat.  Dew point 78 here.

And whats up with the sky?  Seems more haze today or smoke ?  GOES show no deep blues like yesterday on the visible

Might be a slow collection of low level ozone and pollution.

12z 3km NAM depicting some hefty rain totals focused near I-95. 2-4"+.

Decent low pressure area for this time of year. Mount Holly already issued a FFW for my area effective July 22 at 10:00 AM.

The entire progression suggests big time rainfall potential. Might be able to restore ground soil reserves to get us through the remainder of the month into early August, with a green up.
