CAPE
Just back from my trip. Looks like the total here since Sunday is 0.30". That brings the monthly total to 0.37"!! And ofc, the line currently pummeling NE MD has missed my yard by a few miles lol. Nice to see nothing has changed.
CAPE
Radar really blossoming and pouring here now. Long time coming. Nice welcome home after spending 2 extra hours sitting in traffic on 95 around NYC on the drive home because they can't seem to do road work at night. What a clusterfuk. CAPE
1.65" here so far. Backed off a bit but still steady rain falling. Finally broke the streak. Gets frustrating when it is wet af in May and June, then suddenly goes dry for 10 days during July when damage to lawn and plants can happen very quickly.. 2 years in a row. ThePhotoGuy
Wild Day... Driving home on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. About ten miles from Front Royal on Skyline Dr, strong storms came through. Stopped at overlooks and heavy cloud cover rolling up the mountain blowing across the road and then thick fog took over the mountains and road. Visibility lower than 100 feet. Heavy rain. Loud thunder and multiple flashes of lightning while in the mountains. And then it rained the whole way home through VA, WV, and Maryland except the rained stopped while passing through Ellicott City and then rained the rest of the way home. Great driving weather... North Balti Zen
@losetoa6 unsure my exact totals - rain gauge got messed up and the storm started while I was downtown at work. Over two inches at least but not sure that it jackpotted like it did in Luterhville and Timonium and then points east of there.
nw baltimore wx
1.39" here yesterday. I'm not mad that I didn't get in the stripe of the heavier 2-4" just north and east. I'm at 5.48" for the month, all in the last 8 days.
mappy
2.32" yesterday, 6.03" for the month. basement flooded yesterday as well. a coworker who lives in Parkville said her neighborhood had a flash flood yesterday. feet of water in the basement, yard is all torn up. so as much as i was complaining last night with having to clean up, in comparison i was lucky.

WinstonSalemArlington
How hot will it get at the end of next week? NBC 4 has been teasing upper 90s by the end of the week, but other forecasters show more moderate heat.
CAPE
Seems silly to be speculating about excessive heat a week out when there is still uncertainty about the impact Barry will have for this region. As of now it looks like a decent bet some tropical moisture will become entrained in a front approaching mid next week. Looks plenty warm and humid, but with clouds/chances for showers and storms middle to late week, temps reaching upper 90s seems like a long shot through next Thursday at least. Who knows after that.

Don't think we get sustained 95+...soils are wet and this has been the summer of damped down heat.

frd
Over 2.25 inches yesterday, mulch washed away and piled up in the bottom drive way, trees swaying down, garden hit hard, So much rain ! Power outages here and flooding on many roads. I believe the ground water levels must be very high. Fungus and other crap all around. Like clock-work this is similiar to last July. The first storm that hit us before the main area was a sight to behold. A lot of booming thunder with the evening complex. Some sad news about a car that washed away, driven by a women who was pregnant and her child in the Philly area. We need a serious break in my area.
