I'm surprised actually at how few posts there were last night . Majority of short range guidance showed the big total potential in some spots in central Md  and I remember before bed Hrrr was obviously way underdone esp western suburbs around 10 PM  or so. Pretty extreme ff event for some . Here in Eldersburg area. There was some minor stream flooding and water on roads but nothing major .At home ...probably about same

probably because it was sunday of a long holiday weekend.

.68 for the day, 3.7" since thursday IMBY

The Huntington Levee (Alexandria) had its ribbon cutting on June 15 and consequently dozens of homes were saved by it this morning when Cameron Run reached 11.8 feet this morning.  A 10 foot rise in an hour.

Previously, 9' was when some homes began to be impacted and 11' was when "dozens of homes in Huntington are flooded. Water affects businesses near the Route 1 and Fort Hunt Drive intersection."

This is the 3rd time Frederick has had 5"+ rainstorm since 2015. The other 2 were.

9/29/2015

5/16/2018

Here's a shot of the flood control system doing a pretty good job keeping up with the runoff and limiting the scope of the damage.

Wow, pretty darned good when you are fringed by the storms and still get 3.07" for the day and the vast majority was in 90 minutes. The Cameron Run roaring beside and under the Beltway was extremely impressive, I found out that it had dropped almost 2 feet from it's peak, when I passed through.

A little late, but....    Our tally was 3.39" in a little over an hour NW of Vienna.  Lawyers Road was closed in both directions from our house (our driveway is on Lawyers), leaving only one route out via a nearby sub-division.  This happens a couple times a year or so on average on tributaries of Difficult Run.  The high water mark left by the mud on Lawyers was a new max.

Double super impressive (radar is in Twitter link)

Yesterday's high-precipitation supercell as seen by NWS radar between 3am and 2pm Monday traversing MD/DC/and northern VA. As shown on previous tweets, the highest rain totals of 3-6" were in a band only about 15 miles wide, but extended in a path more than 100 miles long.

Wow,  went to the store and encountered an incredible thunderstorm,  the most intense rainfall I have seen in years.

Looks like over 1.50 inches here.  Flooding on roads and vivid CTG strikes.

Believe it is headed NE and carries a STW with it.

There goes the garden. but really incredible to see and dark as night too!

Also this would not send because of various FIOS issues here, and power outages
