Finally back to a computer.

Almost got flooded out in an underpass on a 395 SB ramp, but somehow I swam the car through in the wake of an SUV. Going where it went.

I got to the Harris Teeters in Shirlington, parked, went up to the fourth floor- and saw Four Mile Run over its banks and maybe 5-7 feet below a triple tree near that intersection.

USGS was registering it at 8460 cubic feet a second, higher than anything in the last 120 days by far. Gage height 15.06.  Accumulated precipitation almost 3 inches.

Cameron Run got to 13200 cubic feet a second, 15.61 feet (any fish on the Beltway?).

DCA appears to have reported 3.35 inches.

Humans are plain dumb.  I saw so many drive through swift water and have their vehicles get pushed sideways.  I understand there are times you have nowhere to go but these were choices they made instead of turning around.  Plain stupid.

Took me 2 hours to get home from Arlington to Ashburn.  Lewinsville road, McGarity, Old Dominion, Leesburg Pike all closed.

My street was a mini-river from curb to curb in upper NW. That's only happened a couple of times since I've lived here. One of last August's cloudbursts, June 2006, maybe one or two others I've forgot. And I'm nowhere near any stream or creek.

Amazingly, only a little bit of water in the basement. When I went down there earlier, I was expecting to spend my morning dancing with the water vac. Fortunately, as another poster said, it didn't train like 6/06.

I was going to say I am not far from him and I got at 2-3" of rain here in West Springfield

My backyard is the border for West Springfield (the big power lines), so eastern Burke :)

I was driving home from Fairfax City this morning hoping to cross Guinea before Long Branch rose... lotta anxiety during that 20 minute drive!

Sounds like you're pretty close to me. I'm in Burke, relatively near Burke Road and Rolling Road. Not far from yoda.

Yup, I'm off of Shiplett, maybe a 500 feet north of Old Keene Mill. Wish I had a view of Pohick Creek right now.
