Have you ever seen wind speeds of that magnitude in a SVR before? I can’t recall anything above maybe 90...and even that doesn’t ring a bell. I’m sure Chris or Hoosier would have a better idea. That bowing segment is out of control though.

I imagine it could also be a bit difficult to decipher the difference between a TOR and straight line wind given the magnitude of the winds here. Thankfully this is all linear...had there been more discrete we cod have seen several strong TOR’s

My brother's father in law once told me about getting caught on a logging road during a blowdown in the Adirondacks back in the '90s. Said it was the scariest experience of his life. Hoth
Jesus, that is some nutty CAPE out there. I'm not sure I've seen values north of 7,000 before. Tack on the shear and EML enhanced lapse rates, no fooking wonder it's going gangbusters out there. Imagine if there had been a stronger trigger in place. OceanStWx
I'm just spitballing here, but I'm curious if there is enough tree damage up in the north woods of WI that the GOES veggie band may be able to detect a scar tomorrow. The satellite is so new I'm not exactly sure what we'll be able to see.
