Saturday looks like a banger for NNE after all..

Cold front approaching from the north will set the stage for
severe thunderstorms on Saturday. Strong and increasing
uni-directional shear will make wind damage the biggest threat
with these storms. Starting the day with 700 mb temps of +12c so
large hail not looking unlikely. Heat advisories will be likely as
temperatures soar through the 90s to near 100 in southern New
Hampshire. Dangerous apparent temperatures in southern New
Hampshire will range between 110 and 115 degrees as dew points
top out in the mid 70s. Remainder of the area will see highs
from the mid 80s to mid 90s.

You can’t base it exactly off an ancient topo  map though. I will show you the exact number in the driveway later today

Topomaps are more accurate than apps.

Trust me, I use a lot of both to get elevations around here.  Phone GPS apps can be off by up to 100ft or more at times.

I could go to the same spot 10 days in a row and get 10 different elevation estimates on various hiking/skiing apps.  Now they aren’t off by much but they’ll be different every time.

Google maps and google earth, topographic setting, is the most accurate and it’s even used in construction planning on the hill.

Sea level rise means the hill in Tolland is not as high as it once was.  Good news is that the lower elevation will torch easier.
