Updated to post a heat advisory for northeastern New Jersey, as temperatures now forecast in the mid 90s will yield heat indices between 100 and 105 this afternoon into the evening. Conditions may be close for the NYC area, but with drier air expected to mix lower dew points to the surface at peak heating, not enough confidence exists that these conditions will be widespread. They'll issue for too large an area out of caution. Living right on the border is frustrating. If my county went to mt holly my warnings would triple I'm sure Even now My Holly has an excessive heat warning out for Philly and vicinity that goes all the way thru sunday night. It’s not that far from the Great South Bay, maybe that had an effect. I’m not far from FRG at work though (Melville) and it definitely seems hotter than that where I am.
