bluewave
Yesterday was the 5th day since 2016 that the dewpoint reached 79 degrees or higher at JFK. Before 2016, there were only 3 days in total with a dewpoint this high. https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/plotting/auto/?_wait=no&q=161&network=NY_ASOS&zstation=JFK&var=max_dwpf&dir=aoa&thres=79&month=all&year=2019&dpi=100&_fmt=js 2 1

Rtd208
Looks like hotter times continuing/ahead for sure with both Mt.Holly and Upton NWS offices forecasting high temperatures in the upper 80's starting on Tuesday increasing to the lower 90's by next Sunday. I was also surprised to see Mt.Holly mention we could possibly be affected by moisture from what could become a tropical system down in the Gulf later this week but there is still plenty of uncertainty with that this far out. Summer I just presume they are 3-4 too low, especially out here. its pathetic when Islip is sitting at 83 and the forecast high is 77.

bluewave
This was the driest first week of July since 2010 in NYC. It’s odd since it was cooler with much higher humidity that the first week of July in 2010. Overall, it was the 4th lowest rainfall amount on record. Other stations like ISP had similarly dry conditions. Time Series Summary for NY CITY CENTRAL PARK, NY Click column heading to sort ascending, click again to sort descending. Cfa
No rain this month so far (7 full days), my current longest dry streak this year is 8 days in both January and March. Hoping these showers fail to drop anything measurable this morning, to set a new streak. Last July started out bone dry as well.
