Yeah not sure why people didn’t get the clue from last night. The storms just kept steam rolling over the ocean. And likely will again this evening. It’s further NE over New England that things are stable top to bottom

They're ripping right now, but it's hard to say how they'll interact with the marine layer. It looks like the line will be in the nyc area around 6pm.

At 440 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms along a line
extending from near Suffern to near Andover to near Green Lane,
moving east at 25 mph.

These storms will be near...
  Ramsey and Suffern around 445 PM EDT.
  Monsey and Pomona around 450 PM EDT.
  New City and Nanuet around 455 PM EDT.
  Haverstraw around 500 PM EDT.
  Nyack and Tappan around 505 PM EDT.
  Fairfield around 535 PM EDT.
  Wayne and Caldwell around 540 PM EDT.
  Orange around 545 PM EDT.
  Paterson and Bloomfield around 550 PM EDT.
  Passaic and Harrison around 555 PM EDT.
  Hackensack and Bergenfield around 600 PM EDT.

Heavy rainfall and numerous lightning strikes can be expected with
this activity. Some hail may also be possible. This area will be
monitored for potential flooding over the next several hours.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southeastern Luzerne County in northeastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 500 PM EDT.

* At 437 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Freeland, or 8 miles northeast of Hazleton, moving
  east at 55 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  southeastern Luzerne County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
