This next line looks rather ominous.  The temp has dropped down to 74 so not sure if that has stabilized things a bit here or whether that holds together all the way in.  I did pick up 0.06" of rain from being fringed by some popups.

ETA - just as I posted, Mt. Holly extended the severe thunderstorm warning for my area.

Now getting heavy sheets of rain and hearing lots of crackling thunder.

Drove through some of that on the 30 going west about a half hour ago. There was some pea-sized hail mixed in and it was raining so hard I almost had to pull over since my wipers couldn't clear it fast enough. Lots of other ppl did pull over and I managed to get off at the business 30 exit (Downingtown) where it stopped raining almost instantly. Went from driving in a washing machine to sunny and hot in less than 1/8th of a mile. Crazy.

Still have light rain here at the moment but not like the earlier gully washer (with a bit over 1.5"/hr rates).  It amounted to (so far) an additional 0.29" for a total of 0.35".  I.e., the cells sortof suddenly bubbled up and intensified but are moving fast, so not sitting over an area for extended time - at least where I am and with this current line.  I did hear of a tree down a few miles southeast of me (per a traffic report) so something must have gusted enough to do that.  I did hear a loud crack of thunder after a pretty significant lightning bolt just before the line actually got here so it could be it got hit with lightning but I'm not sure (something got hit though).  Fortunately where that happened was literally 1/2 block from a fire station.

Recorded 0.98"  of rain last evening for the month up to 7.59" which is 2.92" above normal. Temp wise we ended July with an average temp of 76.0 (+4.1 above normal). This also marks the 9th straight month of above normal readings - last below normal month was November 2018. This is the warmest July since the 77.0 back in 2011. It is also the 6th warmest July since 1983 (warmest was the 80.0 in 1999) All-time this is the 21st warmest July since local records began back in 1894 - the 2nd warmest was the 79.2 way back in 1901

Glad a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was just issued.  This thing just blossomed up just to the west of me.  Am finally getting the heavier rain from it as it moves over me.
