We started the day in Wichita. Drove east on US-400 and then negotiated road closures to Coffeyville for lunch and nowcast. Departed for Miami, OK navigating around road closures (flooding).

Supercell that eventually produced Joplin and Jefferson City tornadoes approached us on an outflow boundary. Saw some photos from Commerce OK; however, we were road blocked. Even w/o blocks, we didn't have the heart to follow it toward Joplin. About 30 minutes prior to Commerce we documented this finesse tornado near Bluejacket OK. Soon after we glimpsed a cone under a low wall cloud northwest of Miami (no photo posted - distant / too grainy).

Wednesday is why we did not get too aggressive Monday. Better to live for a beautiful tornado.
