Anduril
Man the cell that just went through Carlisle was legit. Actually had some rotation in it on radar as well. Rain started from one side then flipped wee-wee more storms more

Side note. It was about 15 years ago when the area had one of it's coldest morning's ever. Don't know if Phoenix set a record or not, but it was a Sunday (I always called them on Sunday morning) and they told me it was 16 degrees in Sun City. That afternoon it warmed up only into the low 40's.
Voyager
The Monsoon has kicked in. 50,000ft tops on this line of storms moving to the northwest from Mesa toward Phoenix and the NW Valley where I am. I just hope the Tamaqua Split didn't become the Sun City Split...
TheDreamTraveler
Well my parents just had their 40 year old cherry blossom tree snap in half. They've lost 4 or 5 trees that old since last year. The wind around 4 pm was pretty crazy.

Itstrainingtime
Well it doesn't appear as if there were any touchdowns resulting from that TOR warning a while ago. That storm over eastern Lanco went nuts!
canderson
For the first time this summer, this storm that was west of HBG moved over the city and the storm deepened overhead. Nice deluge for a good 20 minutes now. I bet @sauss06 is floating down Cameron Street right now.
Itstrainingtime
How often is there a tornado warning in an area where there wasn't even a severe thunderstorm watch? No one in this area was even under a Marginal risk of severe weather today.

MAG5035
Well it had been drying out pretty nicely around here in the last few weeks. Then today happened: I was on the edge of the approximately 3" or so area on the doppler estimate.. and that all fell in the better part of an hour or so. Also the worst lightning storm I've seen in awhile.
Itstrainingtime
(Coughs) ummm... @Voyager It kind of looks like your area is getting crushed right now. You might give @MAG5035 a run for his money today...

CarlislePaWx
Hi Guys. Meant to post this late Thursday. With no rain in the forecast for Thursday a super-isolated shower developed as I was driving home from the gym. There was still plenty of blue sky and sunshine while all of a sudden it began to pour. Meanwhile, the sun stayed out the entire time and I was treated to a rainbow off to the east that I followed on my trip back to my house. When I arrived home the sun was still shining but it was still pouring and it continued that way for close to 20 more minutes. Picked up 0.10" of rain all while the sun stayed out the entire time. It was the strangest experience. I know it's common to have stuff like this happen down in Florida during the summertime, but usually around here you might get a few minutes of sun from a tiny break in the sky in the west while the rain is still falling. I would say at least half the sky was cloud-free during this non-forecasted rain "storm". Pretty amazing.

canderson
1 hour ago, Anduril said: Is that an indoor stadium for baseball? Retractable roof for the Diamondbacks. It lacks any character whatsoever - kinda like Citizens’ in Philly, but is a good place to catch the best sport in the world.
Voyager
1 hour ago, Anduril said: Is that an indoor stadium for baseball? Yup. As Canderson said, a retractable roof stadium. Keeps it about 75 to 80 inside no matter the outside temp. I was at the first ever game played here back in 1998 when it opened.
